Be Advised I will No Longer offer Any Support to Mazda Owners who Do Not obtain these Genuine Mazda Firmware Files from Me.
If you Download from YouTube or Other Links then Do Not ask for any help from me if or when it goes bad. Most of the other 'suppliers' do not offer any Support or include Full Instructions and or are issuing the wrong files for your Country or car.
I am simply not prepared to waste my time when some of you are impatient and or cannot wait for my reply(s).

Most PC Browsers (Google Chrome or MS Edge) offer Translation from a drop down, top far right.

ALERT: Please be aware that MAZDA ONLY Supports the WIRED Connected AUX Hub and Two Large USB Cables for Carplay and or AndroidAuto Conversions.
GENUINE Mazda CP/AA Wireless is ONLY obtained by using an updated for ''Wireless CMU'' (the inside Dash Hardware) and the updated new AUX Hub.
MAZDA DOES NOT SELL or SUPPORT CP/AA WIRELESS VIA a ''Carplay Dongle'' only via more expensive "Wireless CMU".
These ''Carplay Dongles'' are not from Mazda nor can be considered a Genuine Mazda Part.
They are sold via Amazon, eBay etc, I would be careful about their longevity (or life span).
Personally I Only recommend the ORIGINAL CP/AA Update which requires the 2 Wired USB Cables and Updated AUX Hub or Box installation AFTER your 74.00.324A Firmware is working. The Latest and final 74.00.324A Mazda Firmware
does work fine with these wireless Carplay Dongles, HOWEVER I recommend you ONLY use the Instruction I supply with all my Genuine Mazda Firmware as these other paperwork suppled is either old and outdated Firmware from a Google Link and instructions which is very vague.

WARNING: Many of you guys are downloading Mazda Firmware from You-Tube or other sources...
UNLESS You know WHAT you are doing DO NOT...!!
WHY
: Well you are either downloading Firmware for WRONG Country or Region or you are NOT Downloading the Complete Set of Files.
MUST have separate
Fail-Safe.up and Reinstall.up Files and YOU MUST install each in the correct order (the Smallest File is First).
Only the late 70's Firmware is a ONE FILE Only Install.

RESULTS: Well many are ONLY Downloading or Installing the One file and Not the Other leaving you with a Mismatched CMU Versions Set-up which can be very difficult to rectify depending on the TWO Mismatch Versions.
-------------------------------

CARPLAYTM + ANDROID AUTO CONVERSION...Warning...!
Some of you are installing your New Aux Hub and 2 Cables BEFORE you have Updated to 74.00.324A FIRMWARE...!
Well it will Never work as YOU MUST have a working 70 to 74 Firmware installed and running in your car First, AFTER that You then install your 3 new parts. CP/AA will never work in any other way.

-------------------------------
PLEASE NOTE: 74.00.324A is NOW THE FINAL FIRMWARE as all Mazda Cars using this .up Firmware is OUT OF PRODUCTION and No Longer Installed in any New Mazda's made from 2024.
IF YOU Are Currently Using ANY Outdated 70.00.xxx's Firmware Version(s) then I strongly advise you install the Best and Last Updated Version of 74.00.324A as there are up to 50 different Bugs and Issues Fixed or Resolved between old Version(s) 70. and Latest 74.

------------------------------

NOTE: THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE CHARGING YOU FOR THESE Firmware UPDATES IN RUSSIA or UKRAINE, eBay or Amazon, I NEVER CHARGE YOU, YOU DO NOT PAY FOR NEW FILES, EVER!
ALSO NOTE: YOU CAN NOT CHANGE or SWAP INFOTAINMENT SYSTEMS.

ALL EXPORT MZ6s USE the 6th GENERATION MAZDA CONNECT.

GENUINE Mazda CarPlay+Android Auto All HERE!

This OFFICIAL Mazda CarPlay+AndroidAuto is for all Mazda Models which have Mazda Connect or MZD Connect, these Installation Instructions MUST BE Followed Exactly or you will never get CP/AA to work.
CP/AA comes together as ONE Installation, it cannot be separated.

All of your existing Connect User/Display FEATURES still remain and still function as normal.

The following Genuine MAZDA details are for current Mazda Worldwide using factory-installed MAZDA Connect or MZD Connect Color Touch-screen (see above pic), your existing Car Warranty is not affected.

YES, this Genuine CarPlay and AndroidAuto RETRO Upgrade is for Your MAZDA if you want to do a self or home installation.

BELOW Pic is the End Result AFTER you have installed the 74.00.324A FIRMWARE (the correct Region) FIRST, then RUN+USE this new FIRMWARE, and then INSTALL the TWO NEW Genuine Mazda Parts LAST.

Image

REGIONS for FIRMWARE
4A N (ADR)
is for Australia-NZ, Asia (except Japan +China), Middle East, Brazil, Pacific.
EU N is for Europe and UK
NA N is for North America, USA, Canada, Mexico.

PRECISELY for the Model Years from 2014 to Late 2023 which covers MAZDA 2, MAZDA 3, MAZDA 6, MAZDA CX-3, CX-5, CX-8, CX-9, and MX-5.
#This Genuine Mazda CP/AA Retrofit Parts Kit and Firmware/Software is not for 1st Generation of Mazda CX-5 and Mazda 6 using the factory TomTom in-Dash Navi.

NOTE: IF your NEW 2019~ Mazda Models (listed above) DOES NOT come Standard with Factory Fitted CP/AA but has 'any' Version of 7x.00.xxxx Firmware already installed from Factory then ALL you need to purchase/install are the TWO Mazda Parts Listed below in your Region to get CP/AA to work.

This Thread is NOT for Tweaks or ANY other cheap way to install CP/AA (which does not work anyway and will end up costing you more $$s).

ONLY USE THESE TYPES OF USB FLASH DRIVES Below..
Image

NOTE:

You can not rename the File whatsoever on your USB Flash Drive.
You can not have ANY other file or files or folders on your flash drive.
You must only have the correct .up file(s) on a small FAT32 (about 16GB) Flash Drive, file CAN NOT be in a .zip or .rar format.

IF still having issues with CMU not seeing USB Flash Drive do a full format clean of Drive.
Put a small <16GB USB Drive in Windows PC, go to Start, This PC, RIGHT Click on the Drive, Select Format.., Select FAT32, Select Start, click OK, all files on Drive will be Deleted and Drive Re-Formatted (cleaned).
Copy/Paste new Firmware file(s) ONLY on Drive, remove from PC, and try in your car again.

IF you are using any MacOS PC to download files then that will also corrupt your Flash Drive as Macs add hidden files onto a flash drive and car CMU will not see the file.
Edit: There is now a process if you use a Mac PC, please ask me by a MESSAGE Here ONLY.

MAZDA ONLY supports MS-Intel Windows 64bit OS and is used by all car makers for Diagnostic and Maintenance UPDATES in their Automobiles.

Apple (Mac) systems are not supported or used by any car brands in Service Departments or for Diagnostics, period.

WIRELESS Carplay
is ONLY INCLUDED WITH 74.00.324A FIRMWARE for your region which is also a normal Update progression from the now outdated 70.00.367A..

HOWEVER one Must Also Purchase a New CMU from a 2021 Model for a Wireless CP spec car and CMU as not ALL 2021 Models come standard from the factory with WCP CMU.

WIRELESS CARPLAY WILL NOT WORK ALONE WITHOUT 74 Firmware and NEW 2021~ CMU (meant for WCP), as far as I know those TWO things are all that are required, the Firmware is Free and New CMU is about $800 to $1,500 USD. Note: Some filing of Cable Plug connections to new CMU is required also.

This THREAD Does NOT apply to ALL NEW Next Gen 2019 Mazda 3 (BP) or 2020 Mazda CX-30 (DM) or MX-30 or
CX-60 or CX-70 or CX-80 or CX-90, Late CX-5.

YES, You can install this New Updated 74.00.324A Firmware (Region specific) only WITHOUT doing the Hardware (Two New Mazda Parts) Installation.
By installing this new Firmware ONLY your car will have the very latest available CONNECT Operating System and is FUTURE CP/AA READY...which can be done later or never.
IF later you want this working CP/AA Feature you still MUST install the TWO Genuine Mazda Parts.

****

Purchase is ONLY for GENUINE Mazda CarPlay also with AndroidAuto and WILL NOT WORK without Installation of new 74's Firmware FIRST and THEN the TWO ALL NEW Genuine Mazda Parts installed Second and Third . .. in that Order.. . PERIOD!
See new Mazda CP/AA Kit below in Pic.

Image

*Method in these new Updates is now ONLY a Single 'UPDATE.up' File to Run.
No more separated Fail-safe + Reinstall.up files,
Now ONLY ONE 'update.up' File.
You Select either “Reinstallation Package” or ''Update Package'' AFTER file 'SEARCHING' from Your pre-loaded file on Your quality 'USB FLASH DRIVE'.

ALL the other NEW Mazda Parts are a MUST DO requirement as the process of adding and installing CP/AA Firmware and the MUST have Genuine Mazda Parts has not changed. DO NOT BUY or USE any other systems 'put together last year' as this WILL corrupt the use of this very latest Genuine Mazda UPDATED FIRMWARE listed below.

NOTE: There are some cheap options to separately install AndroidAuto ONLY without CarPlay and the 2 New Mazda Parts Listed Below, I strongly advise NOT to go down this route as you must use the OLD and Outdated 59 Firmware which is buggy and at times very unreliable with communication errors infecting OTHER working Systems Hardware inside your car, engine, IC control modules or display screen, you should only use latest Mazda Firmware.

The GENUINE Mazda Firmware here is Free and the Genuine Mazda Parts are not that expensive.

WHAT is the Current or Latest Firmware to use?..

When you See/Read always use the Latest, Newest, Updated or Best Firmware over the years Mazda with Connect has Updated Firmware many times to Fix Issues and Bugs like any Firmware/Software.

So what do you use??, the Higher the Number string the LATER/LATEST the Firmware, anything which is a Lower Number is called Older or Outdated Firmware.
Examples: 29.00.000A, 46.00.250, 51.00.351, 56.00.513, 59.00.545, 70.00.021A, 70.00.100A (still Must use 'a' 70's Firmware for any CarPlay A/Auto install).

YES, Even If you Do Not do the Hardware Changes below in Post 3 for working CP/AA you can still update to 7x.00.xxxx to fix resolve current issues/bugs with Connect.

ANYTHING Below 74.00.324A is technically Older and Outdated (Only BM Mazda 3's still on Stage 1 22.00. to 33.00.), ...ALL OTHER Mazda's have Stage 2 Firmware out of Factory which is any 42.00.xxxx or Later/Higher Firmware like 46, 51, 55, 56, 59 or latest 70's.

****

BASICALLY IF YOU WANT the LATEST FIRMWARE for your Mazda-MZD Connect just install 74.00.324A over what you are using now as 74 works much faster day to day use.....JUST MAKE CERTAIN you use the Correct AVAILABLE 'OS Version' for your 'REGION', like 'NA N' or 'EU N' or '4A N'.
To Find what Mazda's Firmware 'OS VERSION' and 'REGION' is in your car today go to Post 1 #04 above to reveal the OS Version Number and Region which you are currently using......
.....As you can see from dash image
this Owner from his cars CMU 'File Searching' has the Latest 70.00.335C 4A N (ADR) Firmware already installed out of the Factory, so in his case all he has to install for a 100% Working CP/AA are the Two Genuine Mazda Parts listed in Post 3 Below for his ADR 4A N REGION.

***

You MUST follow the Install Instructions in the correct order and understand the PROCESS BEFORE you start.

NEVER TURN CAR OFF, START ENGINE or STOP FIRMWARE UPDATE PROCESS ONCE YOU START IT or REMOVE USB FLASH DRIVE AS IT CAN TAKE AS MUCH AS 15 MINUTES WITH A BLANK or a BLACK SCREEN, DO NOT PANIC, ALLOW up to 60 Minutes, or DO NOT DO IT !

****

YES, WHILE YOU ARE DOING THE MAIN 'update.up' FIRMWARE INSTALLATION YOU WILL VISUALLY SEE YOUR TOUCHSCREEN either Flicker, Turn Off-On, Flash White, Grey or Black.....NOTHING IS WRONG THIS IS 100% NORMAL.....DO NOT PANIC.....OK!.....These FIRMWARE INSTALLATIONS takes your TIME!!....About..
NA N About 35-40 minutes....
EU N About 45-50 minutes....
4A N About 40-45 minutes....
Install Time can also vary on the speed and or the age of your USB Flash Drive.
See Below Instructions plus the Screen Pic on HOW TO KEEP 'CMU' ON...a MUST Do!

****

To CLEAR UP some Questions on INSTALL Pdfs from MAZDA, DO NOT, repeat DO NOT Skip Any of the Tasks as you do not know more than Mazda.

WHEN You do ANY Connect Firmware Updating, YOU NEVER have Engine Running or Full IGNITION ON, ONLY ACC Ignition should ever be ON, that is Amber light inside S/S Switch.

NEVER, Touch or Put YOUR FEET ANYWHERE on your Pedals during the First Starting of the Firmware Update Process.
The STEP ON of 'A' Pedal is ONLY done during the update.up Firmware loading and ONLY to Re-SET the internal CMU clock so to keep CMU staying ON and NOT auto turning Off.

STEP ON 'A' Pedal Once every 15 to 20 minutes MAX, to keep your CMU on A MUST DO or you will break cars CMU.
Image

USB FLASH DRIVE/THUMB DRIVE Quality WARNING:
WHEN BUYING OR USING Any USB FLASH DRIVE (Thumb Drive), DO NOT USE or PURCHASE CHEAP ''NO BRANDED'' USB FLASH DRIVES USUALLY Made in China as these CHEAP DRIVES HAVE BEEN KNOWN to STOP and FAIL DURING CMU FIRMWARE File Installation which can Brick Your Cars CMU.

Do Not Take That RISK to SAVE A FEW $$$s, BUY AND USE A KNOWN BRANDED NAME LIKE Sandisk, LG, Samsung, Sony or Kingston with an external flashing LED is great to see the new .up File is loading into CMU.
Some of the OLDER small 2.0 Flash Drives you might have are actually the best to use if you have one.

****

BE AWARE THAT DOWNLOADING AND COPYING .up FIRMWARE FILE Via any MAC (Apple) PC CAN and DOES CREATE ISSUES WITH Cars CMU SEEING THE LARGE update.up FILE on Your USB FLASH/THUMB DRIVE.

I advise you ONLY use A WINDOWS PC for ALL Downloading and Transferring update.up File onto your Clean FAT32 Formatted USB FLASH DRIVE.
Any Mac PC will auto install 'Hidden Files' onto your Flash Drive which then STOPS your cars CMU from seeing the new Firmware update.up File on your Flash Drive during your CMU file searching task.
Mac Users 'can try' using a Cleaner to remove Hidden/Invisible Files on your USB Flash Drive, but it is not always successful. Seriously just use/borrow a 100% Windows/Intel PC and re-format your USB Flash Drive on this W-PC and Download update.up File again. IF you are still having issues with CMU seeing your USB Flash Drive try using another different Flash Drive of 16GB is good.
Fact: Automotive Diagnostics are only meant to be done with and on a Windows PC. The Mac OS is not supported by the wholesale/manufacturing Auto Industry with any car make.

****

FOR EARLY Mazda 3's ONLY:
Old 31.00.100A Firmware 'if Needed' is ONLY used for the very early 2013-2015 Mazda 3's (BM) for a FIRST Stage 1 Update, NO other Mazda needs it.

****

MAKE CERTAIN you understand the upgrade PROCESS 100% and DO NOT ALLOW CMU to ever go to sleep (turn-off), DO NOT Start Engine Until 100% Finished!
It is not that difficult.

****

....NOTE:

From all 70.00.335C there are No more separated Fail-safe.up + Reinstall.up files, ONLY the one SINGLE 'update.up' File.
AFTER Touchscreen file 'SEARCHING' from Your pre-loaded SINGLE 70.00.335C update.up file in your quality branded 'USB FLASH DRIVE' You then Select either “Reinstallation Package” or ''Update Package'' the rest of Install process has NOT Changed.

....NOTE:
After 7x.00.xxxx Firmware is installed you can run it and can use it in car normally, BUT YOU WILL NOT SEE CP/AA availability on the Connect screen settings it will be greyed out until you install the new AUX Hub and Cable set.
Only UNTIL and AFTER you Install the TWO NEW Genuine Mazda Parts LAST.

Upgrading for the FIRST Time MUST BE done with OLD PARTS Still Working in car.

Your cars NEXT and Future Firmware Releases are done with new parts installed as this ONLY applies for the very FIRST OS Version install of 70s.

WARNING:
IF you install NEW Mazda Parts FIRST You CAN NOT Install the NEW 70s Firmware. YOU WILL have to re-install the Two OLD PARTS again BEFORE you can INSTALL the New 70's Firmware. (Firmware FIRST - New Parts LAST).

****

MAKE SURE YOUR OWN PHONE Apps' and OS ARE UPDATED

Pics above also shows USB End Plugs part of the all new USB Data Cables (Pair Of).

NOTE:
The USB Cable END Plugs for the CMU (Green and Blue) and USB Cable END Plugs for the AUX Hub (Black and Brown) close up pictures are from two separate Part Numbered Cable Sets, one from NA N North America C922 and the other from EU N Europe C830. They are exact same profile USB end plugs.

WITHOUT THE GENUINE MAZDA PARTS CP/AA WILL NEVER INSTALL AND WORK.

Questions
have been asked can I still use the existing AUX Hub and or the single USB Data Cable in car right now?, No you can not, Can I just install Android Auto ONLY without CarPlay or Visa-Versa ?
No, GENUINE CP/AA will never work without doing the above installation and purchase of all new GENUINE Mazda Parts.(with 12 month Mazda Parts Warranty).

Question, Why can't I just alter the power source and boot it to 2.1Amps, can I trick the install process ?
No as initialisation searches for the specific new AUX Hub and new CP/AA Features/Apps will not Run without new HUB and Data Cables.
New 74's Firmware is also partitioned differently over previous Firmware.

Question, Can I just install the New 7x.00.xxxx Only?.
Yes, 7x's Firmware is now the ONLY factory Install With or Without factory CP/AA.
Yes.
But 74.00.324A is the best and fastest bug free Firmware Version.

Question, Do I keep or can I reuse ANY of the Old MAZDA Parts at anytime later..?
No, The old AUX Hub module is Discarded, it can not be used for ANY CP/AA Install.
THE original now unused single USB Cable PLUGS are bent over and Zip Tied Off and Never used again, You DO NOT Need to remove USB Cable as in some models it is part of the original wiring loom or is too hard to Discard (unnecessary).

...DO NOT FORGET TO REMOVE YOUR ''NAVi SD CARD'' BEFORE YOU DISPOSE OF YOUR OLD 'AUX HUB Module'...

....TOOLS NEEDED For Installation....

1 x * USB Flash/Thumb Drive 2.0 FAT32 Format Size 8-16GB Preferred.
1 x # 7x.00.xxxx FIRMWARE FILE for Your REGION.
1 x Copy of 'INSTALL Procedures .pdf' How To Do It Instructions.
1 x Egg Timer or Countdown Timer (CMU Keep Power On Sound Alert!).
1 x 10mm Socket, + 2 x 200mm-8" Extensions (for CMU Bolt/s).
10 x New Cable Zip-ties.
1 x Phillips + Screwdriver.
1 x Flat Head - Screwdriver (taped head so won't scratch plastic dash parts).
1 x Scissors, small pointy Pliers and Side-Cutters.
1 x Hard Plastic Trim Removal Tools (optional).
A quality USB Flash Drive including a flashing LED is great so you can see that your cars CMU is Copying over the new update.up File.

Oh, and Do Not Forget to download, install and run, the following GENUINE software in your Phone.
Latest Apple iOS iOS for i-phone. Siri MUST be Enabled.
AndroidAuto App for compatible Android phones.

PLUS do not forget you MUST use a quality genuine phone USB Cable Cord to connect your phone to the new Mazda AUX Hub Module to the Top USB Port with the white Phone Logo.
CAN NOT 'MIRROR' WITH BLUETOOTH, MUST BE USB HARDWIRED.

HOW TO RESET 'CMU' TO FACTORY SETTINGS (Link).
1. A BRICKED CMU ?
2. FUEL MAINTENANCE MONITOR NOT WORKING AFTER FIRMWARE UPDATE ?
3. DO A FACTORY RESET OF CMU ?
4. OUT OF WARRANTY REPAIRS ?

THE END OF CP/AA INSTALLATION DETAILS.

THIS THREAD AND IT'S DETAILS ARE GENUINE MAZDA WHICH IS TOLD TO MAZDA DEALERS FOR INSTALLATION OF GENUINE MAZDA CP/AA RETRO-FIT.

I DO NOT HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF UNAUTHORISED 'MZD-MAZDA CONNECT TWEAKS' , PLEASE DO NOT ASK or POST ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT 'HOW TO' CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT 'TWEAKING' THIS FIRMWARE CODE.

IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE PRECISELY DOING YOU CAN AND WILL BRICK YOUR CMU.
PLEASE TAKE YOUR 'HOW TO' ENQUIRIES ABOUT UNAUTHORISED 'TWEAKS' TO OTHER THREADS or FORUMS.

BTW: You guys with Mazda 6 and having the 'BLACK SCREEN" Reboot issue, installing of this latest 70.00.335C FIRMWARE is said to resolve that issue.

YES, you can install this Firmware even IF you do not do the CP/AA Hardware Install.

ALSO, I know there is a lot of information in these first 3 posts, and yes I do repeat myself (old age) but this is so you check the warnings....Just make sure you follow the Mazda Firmware Installation 100%, and you will be fine. :)

The CP/AA Installation is NOT that difficult, the hardest parts is pulling the dash apart (where required), there have been many Mazda 6 Owners who have done this at home.

Tips, Firmware Install instructions in.Pdf are also included with your particular download link.
Even a short how to install firmware video can be supplied if you wish.

CHANGELOG for NA N Firmware, EU N and 4A N will be similar fixes.

BTW: You guys with Mazda 6 and having the 'BLACK SCREEN" Reboot issue, installing of this latest 70.00.335C FIRMWARE is said to resolve that issue.

2 months since my dealer installed the upgrade on my 6 and haven't had this black screen since. Thank you for all this info.

I hope you don't mind if I will do a sort of "copy paste" on our local forum. I would like to invite you to join instead if you wouldn't allow me to repost. We use English but mostly, the conversation is in our own dialect.

The problem is what you have mentioned, I am allowed to edit the post within one hour at the most.

With that, I see the dilemma for updates. The only thing I can remedy this in our local forum is make another thread with the update, stating the version.

Thank you for joining us and providing valuable information.

Since you seem to know the system pretty well, would you mind going to PM for some off topic but very specific questions?

Thanks ASH8 for the write up. My 18 had CarPlay/AA already when I bought it. I updated the software following the instructions because I've gotten the black screen twice so far. Time will tell if it truly fixed that problem.

Wanted to quickly share my results:

Super easy, which is saying something for me considering I'm not the most computer savvy person on the Planet.

Only issue I ran into was (originally) using a USB stick with 256 GB. Because it is exFAT the car would not recognize it. MUST be 16 or 32 GB FAT32. After reformatting to 16 GB FAT32 it worked perfectly.

Actual installation/download time was about 25 minutes. I'm guessing the shorter download time was because the Drive is a 3.0 not 2.0? Everything works perfect

Our car has been to the dealer once. That was to have the AA/CP installed. Just saved wasting a day doing this at home instead of having to return to the dealer.

Thanks again.

@ASH8 can you please answer my PM?

Dear people
Any one know about maybe a new cable set:
C922-V6-606
I am trying to buy a kit for internet and I found a seller for internet selling a kit with (hub and cables) with these cables set.
Greetings
I don't follow you, the two correct PN is below for USA ..there is no 606.
C922-V6-605A New USB Data Cable set.
TK78-66-9U0C New AUX Module Unit
TWO part Numbers, that is all that is inside the kit, only USA sells the kit...or you buy individually.

This non genuine CP/AA Wireless Kit (link below) works very well with 74.00.324 Firmware and yes it is a
Wireless Connection to your Phone(s) via Bluetooth from the New Aux Hub then to Phone(s).

You must still Connect the Pair (2) of New Large USB Data Cables from the Rear of the CMU
to the Rear of the New Aux Hub.
These two new Cable installations apply to Any and All types of New Aux Hubs purchased.

Warning, Make sure you touch on the pictures below the main Price,
the Wireless kit is the most expensive which includes handy trim removal tool set.
