Howdy. I have a 2017 Mazda 6 touring and I’m in the process of swapping out the steering wheel to 2018 Mazda 6 grand touring reserve steering wheel.
It started off as a project to add paddle shifters to my current wheel but when the GTR showed up in my local junkyard I showed up first thing in the morning and pulled it. I’ve also ordered the climate control panel from a ‘17 gt to have the heated steering wheel feature work.
I'm just wondering if I need a new wire harness to run to the steering wheel to power the heating elements once I have swapped the climate control units?
Edit/update 1: I put the new steering wheel in and there was indeed a wire connector missing for the heating elements. I didn’t take a picture of the steering column but you can see on the picture there’s only 1 connector on my original wheel and there’s 2 on the new one. Guess I’ll be heading back to the junkyard to see if I can get that and reinstall on mine. View attachment 248257
