I have the forge bpv...changed to the blue spring recently, and i get flutter....hmm...

might just switch back to yellow + 1 shim...not that it's bothering me at the moment cause it felt both cases were holding boost fine.

when i had my HKS i was getting mad flutter/compressor surge! I switched to a Synapse Synchronic BOV and it all went away. Also my mpg has gone up I love this thing!

I went to full recirc and don't have the flutter any more and I do put the horn on from time to time. My setting is pretty soft though and wanted to know from anyone else with the turbo smart... How close to the red line are you? I am just out of it. Anyone have it tighter than 4 or 5 rotations after the line??

This is my observation of the forge bpv, if you have mods like intake and exhaust and others like I have and also a boost controller, you will flutter with the yellow springs. Now I just recently switch to the blue spring and not once it fluttered, maybe cause it still needs to break in. But it does def hold the boost much stronger than when I had first the yellow spring and after with a shims and yellow spring. Now this is just my observation. If you car is still un-mollested, meaning stock intake, stock exhaust, and no other mods to it, the yellow and yellow with shims is fine, but with mods I recommend using the blue spring...

+1 Love it! Best BOV no question! :nana:

I had the turbosmart bov, 100% recirc, fluttered like a mofo even on the softest setting.. switched to Synapse and i wont look back!

Forge BPV...no flutter. Yellow +1

i know this is an old thread, but i have absolutely no idea why my bov fluttering. I just installed a Turbo Xs hybrid BOV. i messed with the washers but to no avail.

Forge- No Flutter

HKS SSQV-Flutter all time time except for WOT shifts

exact same comment as qwik.

unfortunately im VTA at the moment because i just put on the cpe front mount and the recirc hose is a misfit (yes the supplied one).
off to home depot to find a new solution!

Hm, since this thread is brought back to life. I think it might have a lot to do with elevation. I cleaned my turbosmart dual port BPV and lubed the hell out of it with the turbosmart oil and still am getting flutter. We're at 5300 ft up here and I've taken my car up on our mountain top down here and that's 10,000 ft. in the air. When I'm cruising up it though i notice a SHIIIT load of flutter. WAY more than when I'm at my regular 5300 ft. Just wanted to share my observation...

Awan, the Hybrid was found to need a longer spring. Verify that you have it. If not contact TurboXS for one. I had the hybrid but the prior wner had installed the longer spring already. It worked great. I wish I would have kept it, but I'm happy with my Synapse too.

greddy type RS and i can't get rid of the flutter when i ease off the boost. WOT, no flutter...

i think i need to lub mineas i keep feelin like its not consistent with this observation

Oh yea? Some people were saying something about an 80mm spring but nobody mentioned any other details. ill email Turbo Xs and find out. thanks man

forge bpv
i flutter when going from moderate to heavy boost, to mid throttle. I only here the flutter in the intake, not in the bpv. I only started fluttering after fmic and speedie6 TIP install. Never heard it before that, and i've always been running the blue spring.

Have never had it happen.

BOV is listed in signature...

I can get my forge BPV to flutter for 2-3 sec every time If I set the cruise at 55-60 mph in 6th gear. Then I hold the cruise accel for a couple seconds and let off. It's quite amusing! The passengers get a good laugh too.

BTW, I have the yellow unshimmed spring in w/ CPE CIA.
