Gee, I don't know. There are definitely pros and cons. A lot of my recent posts have been about my worry over the bloat factor. I'll say this. All 3 reviews agree that nothing has been lost in the handling/cornering department--in which case blowing it up without changing what made the old Mazda 6 such a delight to drive is a real triumph. A lot of people on this forum over the years were glum about the power; now there's more power, and in the case of the 6 much more. Note also that one of the reviews mentioned that the turning radius was shortened by over 3 feet. Turning radius has been one of my pet peeves about the current model. This too is a plus. The interior as well is much better. Will all these pluses outweigh in my mind the extra bulk? I'll have to see it and drive it. Meanwhile I'm going to reserve judgment. If in the end I throw a fit and start throwing fucks and shits around, it will be because I actually got my hands on the car and found myself gravely let down. But I'm not there yet.
Since I bought my '04 I've closed in on the demographic Mazda is now apparently aiming at with the new 6. So maybe I'll be delighted with it because I'm that much closer to being an old fart

I think we all ought to take a few deep breaths and remember (as Crossbow and Stretch often used to say in the old days) that the Mazda 6 is and has been from the beginning a FAMILY SEDAN. The original 6 was a family sedan with sporty pretensions. In many areas of performance, above all handling, it matched those pretensions. But again, it was basically a family sedan from the get go, and that's what it will remain. Those who really want something other than a family sedan should move to a WRX or its competitors in the class, or spring for a BMW 3 series, which remains the gold standard of the true sports sedan. I've actually been thinking seriously about going German. Whether I'll want to commit the bucks in 2010 when I'm ready to trade, remains to be seen. But I'm not ready to cross the new Mazda 6 off my list sight unseen and in the absence of a test drive.[/b]
