Well about a week ago we had one of your fellow MS6 owners bring his vehicle to our shop yet again. He has been a big help and savoir to us with the parts and development side. It pretty cool to see, because the first time we had him at our shop he was pretty wet behind the ears and was the proud owner of a stock vehicle. Roughly 6 mo's later he stops by with a tastefully modified MS6.

The first test we did was place the race pipe on the MS6. I wasn't expecting much from this test with the small stock exhaust piping and restrictive exhaust.

Mods: Stock car with MS6-RP

The results were not bad, I was expecting more.

So we move on to our next test. We put the Intake back on the car and the Top Mount.

Finally! We brought all of these parts together with a little tuning. I wished I had a little more time with the car but we had a storm coming in that was making me a little uncomfortable keeping our customer here to late. I re-installed his DTEC-FCBC & Fuel Cut Defender :) on top of his MS6-RP, SRI and TMI - yeah I like to do that!

Enjoy!

All I can say is I am surprised by the lack of gains from the RP. The car definately FEELS faster with it...I'm happy with it, but my butt says a little more than those gains, especially in torque.

Now I want to reinstall my CAI, those are some real healthy gains with CAI & TMIC.

Questions everyone is about to ask:
1. How were you cooling the car ( fan in front, fan on IC...)
2. Reset ECU, etc?

Nice results!

Which Intake did you put on for the 2nd run and what Top Mount?

From their dyno plots, it looks like their short ram, and the ETS intercooler.

Go ahead and commence the debate about 3" versus 3.25" and 3.5", plus powercoated, polished, or dowsed in holy water.

Strapping on a 3" exhaust from CPE and doing the dyno would be the real test now that I stop and think.

I just looked at their site, I don't see short ram listed for the MS6.

I'm pretty surprised that the gains weren't much larger on a stock car. I only had a couple mods when I put mine on (CAI & BOV), and I noticed a pretty drastic difference, especially in the torque department.

Although I think just turning up the boost a bit on the DTEC FCBC made a larger difference. Now if I could only get the 4WD light & traction light to go away... not to hijack, but I made another thread about it if you have any suggestions for me Jermaine :)

Yes, it was the ETS Intercooler, it works! That is all!

Any the intake was made by who? CAI or SRI?

I am on the other camp that thinks that 10WHP for a 140.00 cat replacement pipe is well worth the $

I'm impressed with all of the results.

Good Job!

SRI pay Attention MAN!!![/b]

Got that...I guess I am just wondering who it is made by then.

So the comobo of the SRI / TMIC looked pretty good. I'm guessing the TMIC is aftermarket? With the mods listed and the SRI is it recommened to upgrade the IC as well? I have been debating and have always liked the SRI and on past cars never had a CAI (but this is my first turbo car .. 04 cobra was supercharged). I would think the SRI would pull in more heat but give me more peace of mind in regards to sucking in water.

For normal driving and some spirited here and there, with no turbo upgrades, would the SRI really be a bad choice?

Also .. as others have posted .. where can you even get an SRI? I have only seen CAIs posted on vendors websites.

thanks,
Crowley

looks awesome. too bad there was no way to tell by the graphs how much the cai did and how much did TMIC did....[/b]
From previous testing we have only seen a max of 5 to 6 whp out of intake. Honestly it's just not the restriction. The TMIC is good for 15 to 20 whp no question. Again guys, remember it is not the gains seperately that you really want... You want to know what the complete package will be.

Thanks,

Jermaine~

+1 Most of us keep asking about the #'s with all of the mods together, I'm glad someone has finally gotten it dyno'ed. Now I wish I could see that car with a TBE!!!

Street Concepts makes one:
SC SRI
but it reuses the factory ribbed rubber elbow. I'd prefer a smooth hard pipe all the way to the step down, which is what most of the CAIs have. This does get around the issue with the SRI a fellow member here bought off eBay (SRI Issue thread), which did have hard pipe to the step down but was missing the nipple for connection to the cylinder head.

Hey guys, im excited cause i think these doynos show that with the stock turbo it is still possible to hit 300 hp. He'd be pretty close to 300 with the full exhaust. Nice numebers. I thought a Intake and TMIC woulda gave a few more hp.

Jermaine,

Thanks for putting everything together and posting numbers.

#21 ·
well at least we are getting somewhere and know where we would stand. These are no bs #s and dyno thats what i like to see

#22 ·
wow, i wasn't really going to mod my car too much, but this is getting really tempting!

Very impressive results, indeed! To be frank, it's quite refreshing to see a company be honest about this and post such results packaged together like this. Many end-users will want to know stuff like this as this is a very similar setup to what many will have at some point in the future. Thanks!

The car he's talking about is cherryspeed's car. It's a SRI made by TurboXS. If I'm not mistaken he has a 3.25" TMIC.[/b]
You are correct sir.

OK, I guess I am still wet behind the ears...what the hell is a TBE?

What did you tune w/. Also could you please explain what the dtec-fcbc and fuel cut defender is and what exactly it does. Also could I get a link for where to purchase.
