The front bumper and side skirts were the only parts of my '06 Sport that I didn't like better than the corresponding part on the '03-'05 models. But, I'm finding that my opinion has changed.....the more I look at it, the more I like the new look. Maybe it just took alittle getting used to. What do you guys...and gals...think?

I completely agree with you...all 6's do rock....and, after all, a bumper does not make a car....but, being that it's the only significant exterior change....and Mazda made the change to make the car look more "sophisticated", it's still fun to see what everyone thinks about the difference between the new look and the old.
At first I did not like the '06 at all however after seeing a few in real life, I like them much better.
Having said that, I still think the '03 -'05's are better looking because they seem more sporty to me. When I look at all of the other "Blanmobiles" on the road, I'm glad to be beind the wheel of something with a little more sporting style.

i am partial to the 03-05s but i would like to see a lip on your car. i like the speed hood very much.
I like everything about the 06 vs. the 03-05 models except the sport front bumper. It's not bad, and I still like the look, but it could definately be better. I don't like how the bottom end of the front "curves back in" toward the car.

The 2006 models still don't look any better to me, and I would love to diva-slap the morons who did that to our beloved car rather than make them sportier. The 2003 - 2005 models at least have a modicum of sporting attitude, but the lack of ground effect all around, and the lack of texture in the lower grilles make the car look much dowdier. Unnecessary and disproportionate 18" wheels don't help either.
The only change they did right was to move the driving lights to the lower part of the front bumper. Unfortunately, they also made them look cheap and tacky with all that dull black plastic in the process.
The lip kit doesn't work with the rest of the car, and really clashes with the front end.

That is why I am so happy that I ended up buying an '05. The '06 just doesn't have the same flash or appeal to me. Of course we will probably all be saying the same thing when the '08 hits but I am keeping my fingers crossed.
I was just at the dealership looking at the 06's. I agree with all the points against the 06 I have read so far. But also the grill is smaller and the "mustache" part is larger... I really can't say I like the look. I don't think I would have considered buying a 6 if it looked like that back when I was looking for a car. Also, much agreed, the multi spoke wheel is hidious....
