I am new to the Mazda 6 world, is there any way to override the settings for the navigation system so you don't have to stop and can enter info while driving? Thanks.

yes...i would like to do the same thing.

I've researched it some and it seems like you can put a toggle switch in one of the wires (the one coming from the speed sensor?) but I dont know which color or which wire that is.

i wouldnt do that if i was you, your nav unit rlies on GPS and speed sense, it may get kinda jumpy. Gimme some time to pick mine up and let me figure it out on mine. i promise ill work it all out to make it easy, and i will include all pics of the process. okay?

if you yank it out, could you tell me how you do it, ive just bought a 2nd generation sports luxury and was just wondering if its the same as the 1st generation set up, i tried it but couldnt get the centre cup holder to pop out .

The cup holder panel has clips around the outer edge holding it to the lower console. lift the ebrake handle and lift the corners of the panel just behind the shifter. Tip the front up first, releasing the clips and then lift it straight up and off.

bump...

i still want to do a toggle switch if I knew which wire was the correct one to do so...
only have it switched when entering something and then once entered you could switch it back so that it would have the speed sensor input along with the satellite

To override would have to be a software hack for the Nav unit.

A lot of the in car electronics is linked via DATA in the new Mazdas can bus network. I believe the Nav is also linked to the can bus network
