My Super Leaky PTO?? w/ pics + vid!

So, I got my stock pump today, threw that in after work, picked up a serpentine belt and some brake cleaner for the IM for the OCC install on Thursday, and decided to get an oil change at Valvoline while I was at it as it was a bit overdue. I also got the "clicking" noise on the STOCK pump that people talk/complain about on some UPGRADED pumps, and I took a video of that (for later). So, I've never checked out under the car before for leaks (had my old mech do the exhaust + TP), and every time it's been on jacks, I always forget to check under there for leaks. I know nothing about transmissions and the PTO other than some (all??)leak.

Well, while I was at Valvoline I remembered about the leaky PTO issue for whatever reason, and I asked the dude underground to take a peak, LOL!!! After a minute of poking around, he was like 'yeah, something is leaking.' So, the dude was cool enough to let me trek under there (I almost ate it, lol), and I just happened to have my good camera on me from taking the hpfp 'clicking sound' so I snapped a few pics. I actually took a brief vid first by accident, because it was still set on video from the fuel pump about a half hour before! lol I attached the vid because the pics make it look not as bad for whatever reason.

I'm clueless as to what's going on down there, and I'm not sure how bad this is. Is this the 'average leaky PTO' or is this super bad, or is this something else leaking? I'm under warranty, but I'm not reverting to stock... I will bring it in to the dealer and make them fix if I need to, even if I get 'flagged' or whatever they call it.

CHECK OUT THE SHORT VIDEO... LOOK AT THIS LEAKY SHIT!!! LOL!!

Here's some pics:

What do you guys think?? How bad is this, and how soon do I need to get it checked out?

As always, thanks a lot!!

PS. Although I've had a couple strokes of bad "luck" lately, I consider this my lucky to have remember to check this today, because I always forget!

Looks "normal" to me. Especially considering you have NEVER cleaned it up before. Worry about something else,... like the clicking fuel pump... Are you sure the cam follower isn't damaged or missing? How's the fuel pressure?

Ummm.... this is not something that one should HAVE to clean!! (shouldn't be leaking in the first place, wtf?) Granted, my car has been sitting for a week, but I got it washed right after this last pump died, and actually got the 'undercarriage' wash, so I would think it would have been clean. How do I check the fluid level? I'm have no clue about this. You guys know I'm the first to admit I'm a super-n00b... I'm just trying to learn here, and take care of my car. I'll post the fuel pump clip after you respond to my last "msm" about Thrusday! LOL!!

EDIT: Not overly concerned about the hpfp, because I'll be getting my meat-hooks on the CPE pump within two weeks :)

Mine is the same. And it has been like that for a year at least... I was freaked out at the beginning but have been adding oil every and don't care that much now :) I got estimate from a dealer close by and will get it fixed before the end of this year sometime.
How much oil are you adding and how often? I'll have to wipe it down well on Thursday, and check it every few days to see how much is leaking? It sounds like I'll have to take it to the dealer to get fixed.

Anyone who has had the leaky PTO "fixed" at the dealer have the problem recur?

Thanks for the input guys!

How many miles do you have? I have about 26,000 and no leaks so far, but I think it's just a matter of time, based on all the other "leaky transfer case" threads.
Only 30,650 miles my friend! Mine is an 06' built in Nov 05.' I tired the FAQs first, but didn't have any luck, and tried searching. I'll try searching some more, but cut an OG a break here guys, and help a brother out!! lol

I think you should quit modding doogie....LOL
you're very bad luck with modding, sell the car and go get a bike, cheaper and 10 times faster :D
LOL!! I'm calling it quits after a DP down the road, but meth first for safety. I don't really believe in "luck." I'm a science nerd by heart, and I chaulk "luck" up to probability. I don't think I'm personally doing anything wrong (I may be ), and I do my best to reseach things and try to be careful in my mod choices. I actually learned how to ride on a CBR 600 back in the day, and was considering a bike. Then a cousin of mine got killed a few months later (car ran a light in Boston, and he was killed instantly). He left a 13 y/o daughter... I decided bikes weren't for me after that :).

Lol!! MS6 ownership equals a lowered threshold for normalcy.

It's always been just a seepage problem. Poorly machined housings, with low quality, porous material. That's the word on the street...

I'm more worried about other things myself...

Actually mine seals up quite good..., EXCEPT for the TC/Diff junction where the O-ring seal weaps a bit, ONLY during/after I beat on it with the LC set to 4600 rpms... LOL

I'll take care of that when the light flywheel and clutch go in sometime "later"...:D

Mine is the same way. I have to give the under side of my engine and transfer case a bath every oil change.

My oil pan leaks just as much since the BSD. They just compliment each other perfectly.
