I know there have been threads on this but i was unable to find them.

Is there anyway to get the MS3 seats to fit the MS6? i feel they hug you a lot better then our seats do and looks a lot better too. i don't know why mazda didn't make our seats better. there has to be a way to at least ghetto rig the MS3 seats to fit in our cars. if anyone has tried or knows of a way please tell me. I'm sure a lot of us would love to do the seat swap.

Judging from the picture and some eyeballing I think you could, at the very least, change the lower seat rail by using one from the MS6, The upper portion of the mount looks similar(like the same) as the one in the MS6. Anybody want to send me some seats? I'll be glad to try it and let everyone know how it works out...

This might be possible....you would have to find the seats first. I would like to see this done. Actually I think that this would be easier on a Sport since the seat adjustments are manual.

I didn't get a chance to test the seats last night. She left her lights on after she parked at work, so she killed her battery in the MS3. I learned one very important fact about the MS3/MS6's... you CANNOT pop the clutch and start the car if the battery is dead. I pushed that damn car all over town trying to get it to start. :swearin:

By the time I gave up, grabbed a battery charger and finally started her car, I was so very pissed that she wouldn't even let me look at here car for fear of me burning it to the ground. I will try again tonight.

Mazdas (and Fords and some other brands) have an switch on the clutch pedal so that the clutch has to be depressed before the ignition is enabled. I believe the ECU looks for the state of this switch at the moment the ignition key is turned. If it senses that the clutch pedal is not depressed it won't allow the ignition system to be energized.

It might be worthwhile to check into the position of the clutch interlock switch on your car. It may be possible to adjust the switch so that the clutch pedal doesn't have to be fully against the firewall, ie. clutch pedal only partially depressed. The reason I say this is that my '97 Ford Probe GT has the same system (clutch pedal has to be depressed for car to start) but I have successfully bumped started it. This leads me to believe that the switch on the Probe is closed with only partial downward movement of the clutch pedal, so that the switch stays closed long enough as the clutch pedal comes up as I'm releasing it during the bump start procedure.

Hope this explanation made sense.

It is interesting that you say that. On my '95 PGT, I was easily able to pop the clutch to start it. The clutch swith prevented the ECU from charging the starter relay, not the actual ignition system. I assume the pre-startup checklist and the direct injection system on the MS3 prevented start. The car simply "dieseled" when we tried to pop the clutch, leading me to believe there was no fuel OR spark. Damn technology. I sometimes miss my Probe due to its inherent ability to run when it wasn't supposed to...

I tried to swap the driver's seat to no avail. The seats are actually quite different in my '06 MS6 GT versus my '08 MS3 Sport. If one could change the mouting feet just a little, it might work, but the MS3 seat in the MS6 felt like a child seat so I'll pass. I like sitting a little lower in the car.

even if the MS3 seats won't bolt right up onto the MS6 bracket. You could always take the MS3 seat, get a new bracket for the MS3 seat and install it onto our floor pans. Or atleast i would think that you would be able to do that. quick question though, are the MS3 seats powered? if not then you should have a problem doing what i just said because you no longer need the wiring for the power seats if the 3's aren't powered. If they are i would imagine that they would have the same harness and plug right up to one another
