Mounting Amps at back of backseat

Hi,
I saw some people mount their amps at the back of back seat by first mounting a board to it, and then amps on the board.

May I know whether I need to drill on the metal plate of the backseat first before screwing the board? Or just screw the board directly to the metal plate of the backseat will do?

You could also skip the whole board thing. I just mounted my amp directly to the seat without predrilling.

Thanks, Davo. I already have the board cut to the size to fit the backseat, so I will still add the board.

Drill a pilot hole in the board. Make sure that the pilot hole is directly over a flat section on the back seat. There are a lot of contours and you dont want your holes ending up on a curved area. Thats the only problem I had.

Wow... nice.. but my amps are much bigger. 410mm x 270mm and 410mm x 350mm. I am having serious headache to fit them in as the height of the backseat back space is only 390mm to 400mm.
