my Mazda 6 04 gearbox has been making a slamming sort of noise, haven't been able to yet determine if it's to do with the clutch being engaged or the actual changing of the gear itself. So far i've only tried taking off in first and stalled every time, and every time the gearbox makes a loud slamming noise just before the car sputters out when i stall. However my friend confirmed that when you successfully take off in first the gearbox does not make a slamming noise. Any body have any experience with something similar? If it is unfixable and i need to change the gearbox is the gearbox easy to pull out or do i need to lift the engine out?
