I have a question, when I start up the car in the cold, (2005 V6 MTX) it makes this high pitched noise. It kind of sounds like it's metal to metal but I'm not sure. I wanted to see if it still did it when the engine was warm. So I took the car around the block two or three times, to make sure it was warm, and pulled into my drive way, and I turned her off, started her back up again, and the sounds was gone.
It seems that the sound comes bewteen the RPM range of 1500-2000 when starting up in the cold. But when the engine was warm it only went up to around 1400-1500 obviously. What could this be, anyone have any ideas, or had the same problem? If the problem persists I will be taking the car to the dealership since I only have 10,000 miles on it, but how would I be able to reproduce the noise since when I get to the dealership the engine will be warm?
