This is really embarrasing, but it all happened when i was taking out my subs and amp. I think the blue amp on wire touched the ground wire when i was putting electrical tape at the wire ends. The keys were not in the ignition and now I get absolutely NO sound.

The headunit seems operational, no sound comes out of it. no beep, turn it all the way up to max and no hiss even. I tried to clear it by holding the tune button and any other button. It accepted it, but still no luck..

I'm all out of ideas. I reset the battery, checked the 15A fuse for the radio, and disconnected the blue amp on signal from the wire i tapped in back of the radio. I'm all out of ideas.. can anyone help?? or am i SOL?? i appreciate anyone's input.

It seems like the bose amp is not turning on or not getting the signal. this is so annoying. I feel like an idiot

i'll go ahead and say what everyone else is going to say: always disconnect the battery when working with the electrical stuff. Besides that, it sounds like either the bose amp is dead or there may be a fuse in the bose amp or somewhere else that's burned in two. I've burned 4 guage amp power wire fuses in two before, but never anything with the remote wire.

my vote is for a blown fuse. you need to check all your fuses. the bose amp doesn't work off the radio fuse, i think it's off the interior or dimmer fuse. check them all, all under the hood and at the DKP.

also, you should always fuse your amp turn on wire within about the first six inches of the tapped source. this wire won't draw much current, you're fine with a 1-5amp fuse. this will protect your amp and the power source should there be a short.

driver's kick panel, the fuse box inside the car. i seriously doubt the amp is blown. also, if you've grounded out a speaker, or the bose sub, you'll cut off sound to all the speakers. start with the fuses though.

i checked and double checked all the fuses in the driver's kick panel and in the engine, but no luck. all the fuses seemed to be good.

I also took my brothers amp from his car and connected it to my stereo, but the amp would not turn on and i double checked the connections. I dont think Im getting any signal from the amp turn on wire.

Anyone have any other ideas? I'm about to just give in and buy a used stock headunit or buy new headunit altogether and in the process get some new door speakers as well. Any suggestions are appreciated.

did you check your voltages for amp turn on at the bose amp under the seat & at the bose sub amp? unless your voltages show good i'd still go ahead and change out your fuses related to the radio & amp anyhow.

check your interior speakers & the wiring at the speakers. if you have a speaker shorting out all your speakers will be inoperable.
