Thx. Ill keep you updated.

Ruination- the 690 will be purchased in 2 days. I was hoping to have my new pc built by Diablo release, but looks like I'll be a few days late thanks to the IRS being slow

I've seen the 560 in action and the 680.... HUGE difference.

Wait, are you getting a 680 or a 690? The 690 is about $1K! Im just waiting for a single GPU solution that will equal or beat my SLI 480s. The 680 comes close, but not yet. Probably when the 512 bus-width GDDR5 units come out (GTX-685?)

not so good news considering ive just installed my atechs and don't have ap to monitor pressure...
hopin it was an installation error.. i would have instructed the shop to reinstall after getting to confirm the stock numbers...
still the possibility of accountability was misplaced here instead of part failure..

considering the 680 is much more efficient, you could run another without needing to change your power supply. Also, it's not going to run nearly as hot, so you can overclock the 680 and be on par or better with your SLI setup. plus you can run always get another card later when they drop in price a year from now and run SLI ftw.

And yes, the 690 is what I'm purchasing. I do a lot of video editing now, and usually have multiple programs processing video at a time, plus I'm tired of having an *adequate* rig. I haven't built a decent setup in a LONG time. So that with a new mobo and i7 sandybridge I'm set.

Threadjack ftw.

Oh, I've got a 1200W PSU. I've got lots of juice to spare. You seriously needed one that big to run 2 or 3 480s in SLI. I had planned on 3x, but after seeing what 2 could do I opted against the extra heat a 3rd would produce.

Also buy EVGA if you can. They seriously took care of me today with an RMA. I think I'm getting a 580 in return! Im selling that and the 480 and Im buying a 680, which I'll SLI later... or Im selling the 480, keeping the 580 and buying a CP-E TIMC. ;)

Also, IIRC... 2x 680 > 1x 690 (@~ same cost). Just sayin'.

Pulled the internals, and did the reinstall (following the DIY how to thread on MSF).

Same issue. :(

Can't run multiple displays in SLI mode brosef. ( I run 2)

Car PC with nvidia unit, that controls NOS and meth injection directly through fuel pump. KR=done, with some extra ponies to boot :p

Are you kidding? Im running 3 monitors in Nvidia surround right now on my SLI 480s. Two displays on one and the third on the other GPU... well I was anyway, now im only using two monitors because my other 480 is OTW to EVGA for RMA. The 600 series is the same except they made the 680 and 690 powerful enough to run 3 monitors off of a single card (all be it not in 3d at any decent resolution).

Are you talking about surround viewing? Because SLI surround only works with 3 monitors.

I'm talking about individual displays, not span, and on 2 monitors.

Yes I am, however I know for a fact that you can have two monitors (as individual displays and not in Span mode which is impossible with Nvidia cards IIRC, you can only span on 3 monitors unless you go ATi) on SLI hardware. Ive personally done this with the past 2 generations of geforce GPUs. Id typically game on one monitor while using the other to monitor hardware, display Teamspeak, have webpages open, etc.

Ahh then I had it backward. :D

Well then I may consider running SLI on the two 680's vs the one 690 (for now)

Plus you get more porcessing power and overclocking potential. If you are in to that sort of thing anyway.

the way this thread has evolved i'm wondering if i'm threadjacking by saying that I installed my autotech internals today and on a quick test run, my WOT run hit 2000+psi. Still want to break em in and monitor a bit more before i throw on my dp tho

carry on citizens

You didn't break them in? I know they say as long as you idle for a few you're okay, but I would still be a little cautious considering the hit or miss lately.

well first i primed it by turning it to the on position, then after a few seconds started it up, listened for a minute or two to see if i messed something up (fingers crossed!), moved the car to a better location to clean off some spilled fuel in the engine bay. Turned the car on and off a few times in the process of cleaning, getting AP to log and wash up, and then i hit the road at a slow pace to let the car fully warm up. I had a feeling they were alright because at the slightest blip of part throttle i was seeing 1500 to 1600+ unintentionally easy. Of course that might not mean anything at WOT but i just couldn't resist

I'll be good tomorrow I promise :p

I'm sure you'll be fine if you haven't had any issues with FP yet. I think you'd know if something was amiss.

Just be careful. I got awesome FP readings at part throttle as well...
