New to the forum, but I'm seeking help with the MAP sensor on a 2005 Mazda6 (2.3L 4cyl)

I have tried searching to no avail. (pressure sensor doesn't seem to help and "MAP" is too short of a search term)

I am looking for the MAP sensor location that, according to Mazda is in the 4th intake runner. My mechanic, one of my friends, and I have all been unable to find this sensor. We have however found the MAP barometric(atmospheric) sensor, which is located between the firewall and the battery (in front of the driver).

Hopefully someone has seen this in their time working on one of these cars.

I have a mazda6 workshop manual, which has an image that shows a location floating in front/beside roughly near the 4th intake runner. But it hasn't helped me locate it. (it is also too large for me to upload as pdf or image )

Any help you all could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
David in Canada

Hmmm, strange that you don't see it. The #4 runner is the one on the drivers side end of the engine. The MAP sensor is in plain sight if you look at the #4 runner down near the bottom of the manifold. It has a single 10mm (wrench size) bolt holding it to the manifold.

found it i think

I think that i found it now. It is a Ford (motorcraft) part, from which I grabbed a bunch on numbers (has a blue label). The one that came up as a MAP sensor on google was 4S4G-9F479-AA.
I did have to stick a little mirror down in there to actually see it & read off the numbers. Otherwise, i could only see the 3 wires coming out from the connector.

Thanks for the help,
David
