My girl's 06 mazda 6i threw a CEL P0455 code. Could this be just the gas cap since this was the only code that was thrown? Although it threw this code last year sometime and we replaced the cap with another one. This is what the sticky says the code means- P0455 Evaporative emission system leak detected (gross leak) ON 2 Evaporative ´(DTC P0455). Anyone get this code before and what was the solution? Thanks!

I don't know anything about the code, just know this forum moves a bit slower than others, I'm sure someone will get back at you soon

A P0455 can be caused by no less than a dozen parts or a leak in a small supply hose. The operating pressure used to detect this fault is no more than 1 psi, this is not something the average diy'er can successfully diagnose without blindly guessing.

That might be one reason to take it to the dealer to get checked out. An hour of diagnostic labor to get an answer might be worth it.

My 07 2.3 jut through a P0455 and a P2187, and it recently just died after refueling. Stopped for fuel, shut he car off, and when I was done and went to restart the car, the starter would turn over but the engine wouldn't until I gave it a little gas. Any ideas what the problem might be? I'm thinking dirty MAF or Fuel injectors.
