Hi guys,

did someone knows if it's possible to disable the ABS system on the mazda6?

If so, how can i do it?

Thanks,

Possible? sure, everything is possible. However if you do, your speedo will stop working because the two systems are tied together IIRC.

Just one question.

Why?

You're not buying into that whole "thresh-hold braking" business are you?

First of all, you're probably not that good of a driver. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on that and assume that you can modulate the pedal that well.

It is a fact that ABS makes stopping distances longer than "thresh-hold braking". But you need to be on good pavement in a straight line for that to work and the world is full of curves, irregular surfaces, gravel, snow, ice, dead leaves, mud, etc....

Perhaps the OP want to disable ABS for a track session?

Many USTCC cars leave the ABS intact. Stab the hell outta the brake late in the corner, steer through, mash the crap outta the gas on the way out of the corner. Don't worry about locking up the fronts and losing steering or locking up the rears and whipping into the wall ass first.

+1 I'd usually take understeer on most tracks because who puts gravel traps on the inside of a turn?

And if you're locking them up a lot I'd look into new pads, rotors, and tires first.
