Hello forum members,
I found... as I was driving that I heard a clicking noise coming from under the hood on the passenger side. Thought it was maybe some branches stuck somewhere.. didn't bother then drove it another day but the clicking got worse.
Popped the hood, and saw that the clicking noise was coming from a worn serpentine belt that barely had any rubber left on it and seemed to be held together by a few metallic strands. My car is a 2016 Mazda 6 GT - built December 2014, bought it in 2015... has about 109k km (in Canada).
At the time I was about half an hour away from home so I called Mazda Roadside assistance and left the car at the local Mazda dealer that I get it serviced from... they don't open till Monday morning. It's really weird because I just had the car went through an annual check up at the same dealership and the report says the belt was perfectly fine - two weeks ago March 22, 2018.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it normal for serpentine belt to go this early? Anyone aware if this should be covered under the Mazda "unlimited" Warranty? - hasn't passed the three year mark yet!
Please share your thoughts
Thanks!
