2008 Not On The Road Anywhere Yet?

So from reading the posts, it seems as if the 2008 Mazda 6 isn't on the road anywhere yet. Not in Japan, Europe, or NA. Anyone know where it will be made? Same assy line as the Fusion? Taste is very subjective, but I predict this new body style (would love to see the hatch and wagon here in NA too) will kick sales ass like Mazda has never seen. It will be their best seller ever...IF they price it right. Altima, Camry, Accord, G6, Fusion, etc, etc....lots of compitition out there.

Sales in Europe and Asia start at the end of this year. Their car is assembled at Hiroshima plant. NA production will start about year later at Flat Rock, Michigan. It is not the same plant as Fusion. Ford assembles Fusion in Hermosillo, Mexico.

Yep, 2008 models in NA are the same as the 2007 model that precedded it. With exception, of course, to the standard TPMS and that the wagon was dropped. Probably a few other minor changes, but nothing as major as adding TPMS and dropping the wagon.

Btw. I saw the new ´08 Mazda 6 on the road yesterday here in Finland. I saw it on the front of our biggest local Mazda dealer. It was quite dirty one... maybe it was a testdrive car or driven by the dealer staff.

There were also two new Mazda 6 '08 sedans or hatchbacks in the store. The other one got the new cool and more aggressive looking bodykit (maybe the new aero bodykit!?).

Click on the link to go to Mazda Finland's site.

Mazda Finland

There's a link on the page toward the bottom left under Mazda 6 (2008) called Esite, which is a link to a pdf brochure of the new car.

Interesting, they continued the cost of having a unique rear door on each body style. The 5-door and the wagon are so close I'm amazed they didn't make it a shared part.

what language is this? i cant find any translation......someone help![/b]
Well. it's....Finnish, a language somewhat closely related to Estonian and, some hypothesize, very, very distantly related to Hungarian. Although it's a Nordic country the language has nothing to do with Danish, Swedish and Norwegian, which are themselves closely enough related to be mutually intelligible. These three Scandinavian languages are actually related to English, and you could learn one of them in a few years, but it would take you the rest of the decade and more than half of the next to learn Finnish. So Why don't you forget about the Finnish website and try the Mazda site for Great Britain instead? You'd find that less frustrating, I think. :) :)

Don't you think I would have thought of that first? :p

There is no brochure download for the new 6 on the UK site, but there is this mini-site for the new 6:

NICE! Thanks man for taking the pics... I like the taillights on the black one much better. You guys are pretty lucky to have it available already... we don't even know for sure what ours is going to look like. Next time though, could you just buy one and then write us a review?

I think a test-drive would accomplish the same thing, don't you think? :)[/b]
haha yeah, but I think he'd be able to better compare the two since he'd own both. Cmon man, take one for the team! Plus he'd be the first owner of the new models on this site!
