so im planning on getting the optimized throttle body and i guess since im gonna get that im wondering if i should go ahead and get the throttle body spacer. im just skeptical if the spacer and the bored out TB will match? meaning will the diameters of each match up, and if they dont would it matter? or would the spacer end up being a flow restriction? i was curious about this so i thought id ask :yesnod:
Thanks

Two wheelin doesnt make the throttle body bored anymore, just optimized. I got my optimized throttle body and the throttle body spacer, and i'm happy. So I think you will be happy either way :) lol

oh well cool deal, are the hp gains noticeable with both?

DJQuik1 did a measurement on the TB spacer and I think the diameter measured in around 63.5mm (mentioned in this thread, actually). So for the optimized and stock units sitting at a 60mm bore it is perfectly fine. For us owners of the bored/optimized TB, the spacer's diameter is less than 1 mm smaller than our 64mm bore (not enough to make a negative difference IMO).

okay cool deal, thanks

Sorry for not reading all 28 pages, but has anyone seen an increase in fuel economy with this?[/b]
Not really..
If your looking for better fuel economy, make sure the engines warm before you start moving, gradually accelerate(Heavy foot=Bad), don't tailgate ppl(Less braking), and gradually slow down for stops, have proper tire pressure, take out any extra weight out of the car. Just that can improve a ton.

Steeda's website said this would improve MPG. I'm a mechanic and have done some racing so I know about the other stuff. I was just curious about the claims for this particular part. Thanks for trying though.

Avg of 1-2 mpg increase for me since install.[/b]
Thanks Dave.

I am curious how those that jumped on this 6 months ago are feeling about it now? Still happy with your purchases? Gains if any still holding up? and anything else youd like to share as sort of a long term use update.

I am happy with my purchase

Yeah I'm still happy with my purchase also. Has anyone tried the plastic tbs that was for sale on ebay?[/b]
A local guy did here in town and it leaked air because it was warped. He did not do the coolant bypass on the TB so it might have led to that though.

Im happy w/ mine. For 80 bucks it was def. worth the small gains[/b]
Happy as well!

side note & I am possibly thinking crazy.. what would a slightly thicker TBS do? i.e. 1 1/2 thicker or 2 times the size of the steeda one do? Would the volume increase causing a leaner air to fuel ratio? Anything bad or any slight benefit?

Thanks
Matt

That is a good question. In theory it would go leaner and add to intake volume
