Injector cleaner is not needed with direct injection.

Just to play the devil's advocate, I have noticed that numerous car owner's manuals attempt to deter any use of fuel additives/cleaners. I would imagine that having a 1600psi blast moving through the orfice would keep it pretty clean but there is always the possiblity of films and gunks that could exist elsewhere in the fuel system. I haven't used any personally but I think what the manual is concerned with is using additives that might contain corrosive chemicals. I wouldn't think that a reputable "safe for modern fuel systems & O2 sensors" additive would hurt anything. If you use good fuel and the car is running well, I don't see a need though.

My dealer tried to sell me a feul injector cleaning service @ 24k. He said that the car had a hesistation- one that i've never felt- and that we should clean it. I declined the service and called a personal friend who happens to have a perfomance repair shop. what i was told exactly is that todays gas has an ethanol detergent mixture and that mixture IS a feul injector cleaner. He said that he doesnt even offer the feul injector cleaning service anymore.

BINGO!! Due to EPA regulations and performance advantages, gasoline sold in the USA already has detergents in it. Maybe if you use cheap gas you should consider it (kind of destroys the purpose of being a tight wad if you have to buy this stuff though) but, like someone mentioned above, a good tank or two of v-power should do the same thing.
