AHH, those bolts suck big time. I don't have little hands or arms, so I ended up with a bunch of cuts and scratches from getting my arm down under there. Good luck with the installation, it was harder then taking it out.....at least by yourself it is. I got a mirror about 3" x 3" and layed it on top of the transfer case and had a light under there and used that to help me see underneath along with a mirror on a stick (don't know what its actually called).

If you use a swivel to help get the oil line on, try to put a little electrical tape on it to help keep the swivel straight so you can start the bolts. This works on any hard to get to place. The tilting rachetable wrenches help a lot under there too. Good Luck

I got mine off with a 14mm ratcheting wrench. It was one of the things I put in that turbo install post. It will save you soooo much time.

Getting it out a turn at a time, probably takes me about 3 minutes to get that nut off.

so the installation has started today? SWEET!!!!!

I went ahead and had them shipemthe 76R instead of 71R.

I am not too happy my turbo won't spool up until about 3400rpm but W/E!!!

Custom FMIC won't happen until mi-June now :( Tuning is beginning of June. And I will be DONE. Stock fuel system has to be completely revamped to even get 375whp in these DISI cars. No other way around it, sorry that'sthe truth.

ok guys , its done!! after 8 hours but its done and i will never do it again even if you pay me :goon:

but it is just CRAZY , the car is so fast its unreal. i came out i was shacking. the boost comes on at 300rpm , but full boost is at about 4500k but holy shit , u better know how to shift fast, i got to get used to that. can wait to go wednesday to the races and sunday if its nice guys im off the the 1/4mile. if this is not in the 12's then i should start driving Automatique from now on :drive:

i only set it up at 18-19psi with the ATP fuel cut defender and it works great. no fuel cuts .

the noise of that turbo when it spools WOWWWWWWWWW, and i actually find that the car drives alot better then with the original turbo since the boost comes on later so it is perfect for city driving.

i went for a take off a my long street and i got to tell you that with that turbo you need the big brake it. the braking is way 2 long and i just had new brakes installed on the car 3 weeks ago.

i took some pictures of the turbo as well for those who asked me to have pics with the wrapping off. i will post them tomorrow. im out

this is just 2 good 2 be true!!!

You running with no tune?

#12 ·
It evens out pretty much. A tune on hs car would add maybe 20hp tops. But it is safer!

4500rpm at full boost seems pretty high compared to stock at about 3000rpm.

I agree, great for the city and can be good on gas as well :)

However, 4500 is way too high. I am torn, I still have until Wednesday to change back to the 71R kit, depends on when it will be available for shipment. No rush here, but I want it isntalled and dyno tuned by end of June.

Glad to see you got it in P5, 8hrs is about how long it took me to install my DP, hahaha. Be sure to add to the 'tips to isntalling a turbo' thread...

4500rpm looks high , but im redlining at 7k , but it pulls so hard man u have no idea. keep the 76R instade of the 71!!
yeh 8hours but we were 3 people on the car. i dont know how people do it alone ??

Congrats bud!!!! Glad you got er' in there. Definetely be glad to see how your car does at the track.[/b]
thanks man , and thanks for the Pm's u responded to me.

and by the way guys, if you know how to swear in every language that exists then its a good start , u can go ahead and order the kit.
ATP should write (bolt on turbo on pics only not when u get it)

to start off you need to disconnect almost everything , take off the batterie, the batterie tray, some hoses, all the original clamps and brackets , all the heat shields next to the turbo! u need 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and 14mm wrench to work on that car and alot more stuff as well. but the main one's are these.

here are some pics of the turbo and my friend installing it lol

its funny as well on one of the plugs there is a tag that says FO.MO.CO is that stands for ford motor company?

So what are you using to control boost? What is the wastegate sprung for? I'm dissapointed to learn the stock fuel system is limited to 300whp, after which as you said requires serious modification. Do we have enough info to say that the cp-e standback will elimate fuel cut? I recalled people finding the atp fcd to be inconsistent.

p5freek, be careful of your rear differential with as much torque as you are putting through the driveshaft, with all that force so you could break the housing open.

im using my turbosmart boost controler (mbc) and it works perfect. i closed it completly and turned it 2 click so im set at 18-20psi !!!

the wastegate is set at 15psi so i cant go under that which is perfect. i have the ATP and it works perfect , my friend as well he has no problem. im that the cp-e EMS can fix that as well.

i dont think that our fuel system is limited to that!! do you have a link to that?

yes i will but if it breaks then ill go and have it replaced at the dealer ;)

Thanks for all of the pics and your review. It's good to know what this car is capable of doing with a turbo upgrade. I just hope the rest of the stock parts (i.e rear end) can hold up.
