i keep pondering about this question. Will enthusiasts give the 6 a chance? I mean in the mind of your average, everyday enthusiasts, they would think a good car to mod would probably made by the usual Honda, Toyota and Volkswagen. They usually leave Mazda out. I rarely see any modded (rice or no rice) Proteges, Miatas, 626's and etc. driving around so again, the question. Will enthusiasts give the 6 a chance?

I agree to some extent with that, but I do see a lot of modded Miata's especially down here in LA. I just saw one a couple days ago that had a hood scoop, ferrari rear lights, and ferrari front lights. Needless to say it was hideous. You have to realize that the RX-7 was also one of the most modified cars on the planet, and there are probably more modded RX-7 3rd gens running around then stock versions, considering that some modifications actually lengthened the life of the vehicle, such as a single turbo set up.

Mazda never really made a cheapo car like the Civic that was popular and easily modifiable with double wishbone suspension, or a sporty little coupe like the Integra, though the MX-6 was a good try. I think though, when people see the design of this car, it's really going to sell...
