I have the opportunity to get either some Infinity Kappa 60.7CS components or some CDT EF-61Neo components for around the same price. Here's the links to both, for reference....

Infinity

CDT (the Neo's are about half way down the page)
http://www.cdtaudio.com/hd62ef.htm

Either one would be run from a Rockford P4004 amp, getting 50 watts per channel.

Can anyone give me some opinions on which to get?

Thanks

You think the CDT's are better than the Kappas then? Do you have a pair of the CDT's?

Not yet but they are going in my car in the next 2 months or so. They are highly recommended off alot of the audio forums I frequent!

*disclaimer: But - let me add - sound is subjective. The Kappas may actually be better for your tastes. What type of music do you listen to?

I'm mostly a hard rock type of person (Disturbed, Metallica, etc...), but I have been known to listen to some rap music here and there.....

Hmmm...The Kappas, in that case, may actually suit you.

The Kappas are a "harder" sound than the CDT's, which may actually give you a better match for the metal.

The CDT's are more musical and warm.

If you are leaning towards the Kappas based on that, I would recommend that you start eyeing tweeter locations that are further from your ear than the mids. Again, it's all subjective, but I found the tweeters quite intolerable when placed too far from the mids. I just took a look at the Kappa spec page you linked to, and they list an adjustable tweeter - probably off the crossover. That's a good thing. I also notice they are 2 ohms - make sure your amp can handle that.

It depends on what you are looking for. Keep us up to date!

The cdts are more laid back and have a smooth but detailed tweeter. The Kappas have a more shrill tweeter that some find more detailed but can also be considered too bright. Its a a matter of choice. I used to run cdts and thought they sounded best with rock. Id go wilt cdt
