I just removed the wind deflector off of the top of the car by the moonroof b/c I didnt like the way it looked. Underneath there are a shit load of minor scratches...what polishing compound that is safe for clear coat should I use?

The best polishes for the price are made by Optimum. Most people around here prefer Meguiar's scratch-x which is good for over the counter stuff but better stuff exists. Make sure when using polishes you start with the least abrasive and check your work often. If the scratch is still there then move onto a move abraisve polish. Going from light to heavy will save your clear coat. If you can fit your nail into the scratch then it is too deep to save and the only thing that can be done is repaint it.
