Raleigh, North Carolina! Experienced the Autobahn as a tour bus passenger during a Rhine River cruise (Basel to Amsterdam) a few years ago. I made several observations: one was that the speed limit for the sections we were on was 130 km/hr (aka 80 miles/hr). Two was the general absence of areas to pull over in case of a breakdown. For the US interstate system, comparable to the Autobahn, there is usually an area on the right-hand side of the road to move a vehicle to and not block traffic. I know that Europeans tend to take better care of their vehicles compared to us in the states and perhaps this fact influenced the construction of European roads like the Autobahn. Anyway, welcome to the forum!!!
