I ask because if they HID goes off, flashing other drivers with high-beams would reduce the life of your HID bulbs, right?

if you have your hid's in your lows, then flashing your "halogen" high beams wont cause the hids to turn off...they stay on constant......your fogs are a ddiiferent case tho, they will turn off once the highs are on, and if you have your hid's in your fogs then you may want to re-wire them so they dont do this, otherwise it will kill your ballast.
