I already own a 2010 mazda6 touring and love it, put 150k since I've owned it. Looking at newer models now and was just curious what everyone thinks is the best year/trim to buy used as far as reliability and performance want to stick with the sedan style as well. Thanks

Couple of things: '14, '15 best for fitting an upgraded sound system. '16, '17, '17.5 are BETTER re interior noise... but '18 and '19 are best (I guess, along with '20) for interior noise (at a cost of a couple hundred lbs weight increase). Manual transmissions (in the USA) are available for '14 thru '18 (naturally aspirated). Highest performance: '18, '19, '20 Turbo.

'18, at least, in naturally aspirated, 6MT, does not have cylinder deativation... whereas the 6AT naturally aspirated DOES have this. I may have this wrong. It may apply to the '19's... I do, however, note that the 6MT transmission is NOT available for '19 or '20.

At least I think I am right, here. Please, Others, chime in...

You mentioning "sedan style" makes me think you're not in North America?

I have a 2013 GT Wagon, which I purchased three years ago. I don't do a lot of my miles, but the car has excellent fuel economy, especially on longer journeys.

A nice feature of this generation GT , is the front seats are heated, so those of you in cold climates might like this.

One big drawback is tyres. As they are 19" wheels, the tyres in Australia are very expensive as this is not a common size.

I had a Mazda 3 hatch for 8 years, and never had a problem, the same (so far), with this car.
I will almost certainly be interested in another Mazda 6 in the future. Amazed there are not more out there!

My problem with 19" wheels is over bad roads. 10 different cars will offer 10 different levels of road comfort all on the exact same wheel and tire sizes. I'm happy mine has 17".

My 2015 has been very reliable and feels extremely well built like I've come to expect from Japanese vehicles. The newer models feel equally well built to me.
