I want something that will produce better light than my sylvania silverstars.. but also look cool... but also wont get me a ticket every 2 seconds...

im leaning towards the 8,000k.. blue... has a very very little bit of purple... still shoots 2550 lm output..

then again the 10,000k looks more sexy with its blue and more purple color... but i think ill be a cop magnet... what do you think guys? Choose 1 on the poll... THANKS!!!

I've got 8000k and love them. Its a big imprvement overstock light output and has the blue color. Most on here will advice against it because of less light output than th lower k's but I really like mine.

Check out Xenon expert's website. The company is based in Quebec so shipping cost would be lower and you just need to pay for taxes only.

The more blue you go....the less your intensity will be.

I think zoomzoomfan, and t_mo_t are the best to answer the question on light output. But I do believe it's been covered in here as well...I'll dig up the thread for you.

What you gain in looks in terms of blue, you sacrifice in your night vision. Personally, my retrofit will be done with 4300k as i want that sharp blue cutoff, but need to maintain the white light integrity below the cut off, as I need as much night vision as I can get.

4300 would be kind of yellowish IMO.

I voted 5000K... but if you can go lower, then by all means go for it. 4300K is the best for brightness and inclement weather.

Anything above 8000K and you might as well not have headlights.

cop a set of 6000k's....you get the best of both worlds..

maybe even 8000k but anythin higher is trouble in rain storms and fog and will annoy everyone thats in front of u......

the best is when your on the highway and you pull up behind a white truck/car....the reflection looks insane..or even off the highway signs.......soooO sIcKKk.

heres a pic of my 6000k's ...up close the lights look white ..but from a distance they look blue.....thats diablo's ride on the left...

day shot....

I have 5000K Xtec, they have been installed for over a year now. No issues, rarely get a high beam flash from oncoming traffic (maybe twice in over a year) and they are a huge improvement over stock. Look very white to slightly blue, depending on angle you look at the headlights. White from head on, blueish at side angles. I have had many compliments on the lights and when anyone gets in the car at night it is the first think they notice. Also good to note that as HIDS age they will get higher in the K scale over time.
