Heya, While I was changing brake rotors I noticed some odd and rather concerning lines in my rotors(present on both front rotors), I suspect they are welds but would like to know for sure for peace of mind. 2002 Mazda 6 gsx. Cheers,

Hard to tell via pictures w/o close examination but it appears to be the start of stress fatigue. A machine shop might be able to tell you the extent. It could also be gouging from poor quality pads previously and new materials having been compressed into the gouge..

OEM rotor blanks are cheap and easy enough to replace. I'd do that.

how many miles are on those rotors?

Yeah I think im going to need to look into it, however my hands are tied currently with this lockdown. At my best guess they are original so around 295,000kms.

Yeah,, if it’s the original and approaching 300K. Get new sets all around.

It’s worn down. If you check closely .. that anomaly might be align w/the rotor air veins

OEM Brembo blank rotors x4 would run you under $200 or better

Centric, Power Stops, stoptech have been okay too

also, if possible, don't buy it in physical stores. It's usually much more expensive for these kind of items since it's considered a necessity. Shop around.

Brakes are something you don’t want to put off later..
