Hey guys,

Listen, just a social little thread I thought I'd utilise from the forum what with you guys over on the other side of the world and all, as I'm looking at heading over the L.A (scuse my geographical ignorance, but L.A is classified as the Pacific I'm assuming right? Please dont flame me if it isnt?!)

I'm looking at maybe early or late July. Never been to the States, so its all a little daunting, I'm wondering if you guys could possibly lemme know where to head? Or crash and do what? Guessing either the Hollylood run/Las Vegas, how long does it take to get around L.A? Wheres the most central spot for me to crash in order to conveniently get around places?

And more importantly will there be any Mazda6club cruises on at the time I might be able to come along to?! :D

Cheers guys, I look forward to hearing from you.

Phil.

that would be awesome guys, i'm one of the founders of the mazda club here in Oz, some of you may have heard of it, OzMazdaClub, and I managed to go around and meet some of the interstate guys, and its really awesome what can come out of the geek hole that is the internet :D

I'll let you guys know for certain as to the date as it approaches...but yeh Ive always been impressed by them damn tasty rides I see popping up from the 'SoCal' area? Speaking of which, where abouts is California located from say L.A airport? Lemme go find a map or something :p

Well LAX (the airport) is IN California :D I agree with socal that LA is dirty, but there are some cool touristy things to do there. I'd be down to drive up for something given enough notice!

ahaha yes, umm about that...:p.....getting some done, having weened myself from OMC, its a bit easier not having to run over every post being a moderator for a while, and being a normal poster...that and I wanna line these guys up, so I can check out that insane Candy Wagon, I love it! Given my time again, I would have definitly have gone the way of the wagon considering I pretty much live out of my car, and many guys over here can atest that I have everything bar the microwave in my car most weeks of the year...

Looking at late July guys, and may even be stuck over there over my birthday as my other option is to leave early, or miss my birthday at both ends of the flight pretty much, and spend it over air across the pacific ocean!

Spoke to a friend of mine over on OMC who did the states back in January, he's told me to do, Hollywood, Venice beach (I wanna work out in Golds Gym!!! So I can say I lifted the same weights Arnie did!!!) and especially of all Las Vegas of course, I hear its a 5 hr bus trip though?!

Hi guys,
Hoping you can help me out with some things regarding accomodation, where do you recommend? Say downtown, hollywood blvd or the beaches?

Though from a quick glance I think the beaches are out of the questions, as I'm a student, and can only afford this trip because university is giving me a grant to study in Mexico for a few weeks, and I personally wanted to make sure I swung by via the states, as it is something I've always wanted to do. But its coming out of my own pocket...so looking at something that aint incredibly fancy and posh, but at the same time, not the slums I guess! where do you recommend?
