Evening!

I am throwing on CX-5 calipers in the front of my 2016 Sport as I really wanted to try the Hawk HPS 5.0 pads. One thing I have seen mentioned before is the lack of airflow the brakes get since the fender liner is solid. I have been tossing the idea around of venting it, slowly at first with a small pocket of holes drilled through and covered with a fine stainless steel mesh screening to cut down on debris making it onto the braking surface. This would also help move some air through the engine bay and maybe drop my intake temps another degree or two.

Thoughts? Am I wasting my time on this or is there a potential benefit to be had?

Thanks!

Don't think it's worth it regarding the airflow through the engine bay either? I am waiting on a delivery from Mikstore of the hood/door/trunk sealing kit to help on my sound-deadening journey which will prevent even more cool air from passing through the hood gap where the intake snorkel is. Venting the fender liners up front was my attempt at balancing out that decreased airflow coming into the bay by helping air travel through it. Still a stupid idea though?

If you look in my sig at the airbox mod, youll see hard data on that. Pretty much debunks every "air through the radiator" argument.
