I understand the variable cam for the 6 is a mechanical/hydraulic system. Is there anyway or has anyone found a way to move the timing change back some? I'd like to see it hit around 3500 RPM instead of 4000-4500.
Any thoughts/comments?

All it does is advances or retards timing. There is no 2nd cam lobe that can be engaged sooner like on Honda's VTEC, i-VTEC or Toyota's VVTL-i.
