i noticed the burning smell of oil over the last couple of weeks and i noticed this a few days ago, think it is just the valve cover?

how many miles and have you ever changed your pcv?

105k and no i have not changed it, but after reading some of the forums on here i feel like i should asap

how hard of a job is it to do the pc valve and the gasket? or am i better off just going to a shop?

pcv would be easier vs the vc gasket. the pcv is toward the center rear of the intake manifold. you might need a long pair of needle nose pliars to twist the pcv out. its a tight squeeze back there, so small hands will do wonders.
