Having a small Heart attack...

Ok Guys, I'm reaching out for some help here. I am in the middle of trying to swap an 07 Milan motor into my '04 Mazda 6. When the mechanic pulled the Mazda motor out, and put it side by side with the new motor, he said that ALOT more than the list above needed to be changed, including HEADS and all sensors. Is this true? Could it be that the wrecking yard sold us a different motor than the 07 Milan Motor? Please advise. Thanks

I will try to get some pixs to post. So if i have the right motor, the heads including the variable valve timing actuators should work from the Milan? Because I think the ones on my Mazda were bad. Thanks
