I was surfing through some sites looking over some audio stuff i want to put in my car and I notices some adapters so that you can retain the use of the factory steering wheel controls on some different brands of HU's. (ie Alpine) It says how some splicing is required.
I was just wondering if anyone has used one of these and if they work, also how easy/hard are they to install?

i need to do something to my 6, i hate stock vehicles!!!!!

i've used the PAC-SWIX in the past. it works well, and is relatively easy to install. you can buy them at BBY, CC, crutchfield, etc.

This is something that should be in the newbie section. There are some posts in the electronics section about the swix. Some people like them, and some have had problems

I have a SWI-PS which is the same thing as the SWI-X except specifically made for pioneer head units. If someone wants it let me know because I'm parting out my car.

Its a nice piece, relatively easy to install.
