So a couple of used speed6's are showing up on the market.

This one's in coquitlam and goes for 37K

Just out of curiosity, I plugged into the Canadian Black Book(available at Toyota.ca, appraise your trade in) and the speed6 has a trade in value of Low: $23,500.00 High: $24,600.00. Ouch! I think those used speeds should be selling retail more closer to 30K than 35/37K.

Just to put it into perspective, a 2004 Acura TSX dealer trade in: Low: $23,000.00 High: $24,850.00.

I wonder how long before prices hit bottom like the US market? For the car enthusiast, its a great deal. But just doesn't seem to hit with the masses.

The red one is pretty cheap considering the base MS6 w/ leather retails for $38k. It only has 2000km on it which is pretty much brand new. The silver one isn't worth it though, since a new one retails for $38k and there are no available options anyway, that one is a rip off.

that's because you tried to sell it privately when it was still fairly new, and no one would pay 28K for a used car. i think there's a big difference between a car in demand selling quickly and a car no so much in demand, but still capable of retaining good value.

i for one won't bother with selling privately since i'd just trade up and get the savings on taxes instead of the hassle of selling privately.

it varies according to market, but i for one am pretty happy with how the resale value of my car is holding :)

i can't speak for the other 6 trim levels, but for my v6 5 door GT Sport (fully loaded) its doing pretty good if i were to trade it in :)

just for my own torture, using the canadian red book i looked up the other cars that are at similiar trim levels to mine and in the same class to compare how i would have done if i bought those instead. here's what i found:

2004 Toyota Camry XLE 4D Sedan V6 Low: $17,600.00 High: $19,260.00
2004 Honda Accord EX 4D Sedan V6 Low: $16,875.00 High: $19,125.00
2004 Mazda6 Sport GT V6 5 Door Low: $15,350.00 High: $16,850.00
2004 Nissan Altima SE 4D Sedan Low: $14,575.00 High: $16,825.00
2004 Subaru Legacy GT 4D Sedan AWD Low: $11,675.00 High: $13,925.00
2004 Ford Taurus SEL 4D Sedan Low: $9,900.00 High: $11,720.00

Keep in mind, these are trade in values so they will vary by dealership, but its a rough estimate. I was expecting worse, but overall pretty good -- and even better considering I bought my car lower than some of the higher resale valued cars and with 0% interest :)

I just looked up the Legacy Special Edition -- same class as the speed6.
The 2006 model goes for 41K, and its resale on the canadian black book is

Low: $24,200.00 High: $25,300.00

Now, that is a big ouch!

I never realized Subaru's don't hold their values that well, but they are good cars.

You must mean the GT SE. The regular SE is a 28-30k car. We drove one when testing our 6 wagon.

Holy $hit I appraised my 2005 I bought for like 30k last July and now it's Low: $16,038.00 High: $17,538.00. Not planning on selling/trading the car for a long while... but still the value is like 50%?
