so basically a good turbo system would cost about 3500/4000

it really depends on your skill and what you wont be able to do yourself. the more you have to have others do. the more it will cost.

people have boosted the 2.3's for under a grand without issues. but they did all the work themselves, and sourced the parts on there own. but buying a full kit is alot easier for some people that cant source the parts themselves separately.

And this is where I get dumb. I don't know what turbo and the size of one. The exhaust manifold, do I need bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, tuner, what kind of bov, lots of questions.

So I picked up the cx racing turbo kit and wanted to know for the exhaust the downpipe is 2.5 i was thinking of buying the magnaflow cat back but it is only 2.25 , would this be fine or do I have to get a custom exhaust set up and if so would you make it 3.0 just in case I decided to upgrade the manifold and down pipe or stick with the 2.5

I'm nearly certain that there is a choke point in our factory exhaust, between the header and cat, that chokes down to like 1.75 inches. I would go entirely custom and get 3 inch piping and do a single exit.

That's just my opinion though.

^is the dp replacing the cat though? I would get custom as well. You can run it depending on how much boost you plan to run.

So, I'm thinking about a turbo for my 6i. THe only thing is I have the magnaflow exhaust with the 2.25in piping like the other guy. I really only want to run about 8psi of boost since this car is my daily. Im not too good with cars yet, so I was wondering if I could actually run that amount of boost with that set up.

you would be just fine. the factory exhaust on the speeds is 2.25 at a few different points. and at 8psi it wont really be hurting much and should be fine.

Exhaust gas cools and thus becomes more dense as it travels through your exhaust. A 2.5" downpipe to 2.25" catback is going to work just fine.

so cx racing cant come up with the turbo kit i ordered so I am back to square one . I am pretty sure that a mazdaspeed 6 manifold would fit but how about the downpipe

Now with the mazdaspeed 6 manifold. What is on the end of the manifold? The part is on the flange do the driver side. Is that the egr valve?

Yes the downpipe and mani will fit fine. I would use an aftermarket down pipe though.
