My 6 has about 7,300 miles on it. At about 6,000 miles, I notice the engine is really acting weird. It takes FOREVER to change gears when in A/T mode, the RPM would reach 3,000 - 4,000 and above. It seems as though it's struggling to switch into the next gear! I also notice when I come to a stop (at a stop sign), and immediately after completely stopping and hitting the gas (gradually) right away, the transmission "backs" - I don't know how to explain it, it makes a loud noise and jerks the entire car... It's like this, after stopping, I would apply gas, and nothing happens for a second, the RPM reaches 3-4,000, and then the engine/transmission "jucks", as though the car is catapulted forward in a jerk for motion, and then the engine calms back down, but then it struggles to switch into gears, 2nd, 3rd, etc... Is this a known issue? it's very frustrating. Because when you're driving behind someone, and when trying to apply gas and the car would not move, RPM reving, and then all of a sudden it jerks forward, and did I mention the loud "bang" / "knock" sound it makes? Like when you hit a solid iron wall with a steel hammer...

FYI, i just had my second oil change at the dealer at 6,800 miles...

Another thing, there are weird notices coming from the engine room. It's a squeeking, zingging, whistling, creeking, crackling... sounds. It seems like it's something to do with the belt, or some kind of exhaust mount, or something.

I used to like M6, but now it's just a pain, because with the transmission making loud noises and it feels like an old man trying to run, and then falls down a hill! I fear the thing is just going to fall apart!!!

Just take it in. Did it start happening after the oil change?

This is the reason you have a warranty. There's no reason to panic just take it in and have it diagnosed. If it's happening as frequently as you say then the techs should be able to reproduce it. Insist on leaving it with them for a day or two.

It did start happening after the second oil change (at about 6,700miles). Does this make a difference? The dealer changed the oil themselves. Did they do something wrong? I still experience the issue now at 7,800, but I haven't had a chance to take it in yet... Thanks all

you may get new tranny , take care of fluid condition and use quality fluids

keep in mind that 90% of ATX die due to overheating... lowering the tranny temp by 20F by using lubegard platinum will make a world of difference for your atx performance and life span....
