My Transmission Link cable broke off on the end that is connected to the tranny. I am unable to change gears what so ever. I included a picture of the break. Pretty much the end of the cable has a washer attached to it, and then its bolted to the tranny.

I took it to the shop, and they want to charge $40 for the parts, and $1600 for labor. They are saying they have to take apart pretty much the whole dash and engine.

Let me know if you all have any ideas how I can fix it cheaper, especially without removing the cable.
