So recently my transmission is starting to act up. Here are the symptoms, hopefully it is not on its way out.

Basically when i give the car some gas, anywhere from 3000 rpms and up when the transmissions shifts it seems like its delayed. So when I feel the car disengage, my RPMs remain the same (even though i am still on gas) and then it seems to "slingshot" (a sort of stretched feel getting back up to where it should be) its hard to explain. It gradually shifts to the new gear. I also have all the AWR mounts 88 on my car.

I have never owned a ATX that had a slipping transmission so that easily could be it but i would not know.

I am going to change the fluid this weekend, the current fluid is still red and is full, it also does not smell burnt but I dont know. The fluid does have about 30,000 miles on it so that is why I am hoping it just needs a change.

Could it be the valvebodies or torque converter. I usually have MTX's so my knowledge is short on ATX.

Car has 100k on it. 2005 4 speed ATX. If there is any other info that is needed let me know. Along with the change i will probably do a cooler too, better late than never right...hopefully. Any help will be appreciated.

I am recently having a transmission problem that is similar. I have an 06 V6 3L with 80k and when I give it a little more gas to accelerate, it seems like it slips into neutral. This only happens when I'm in 5th or 6th gears. So I took it to Mazda and they said it is the control valve body. I'm trying to have Mazda cover it, because clearly it's a defective part. These mazda's aren't old and were having transmission problems? I don't drive it hard at all and I'm always good at maintenance. I don't understand and real upset this is happening.
