Hi guys, I own a 2003 honda accord exl red on tan leather. I wanted to sell it and heres the link to my car up for sale 2003 Honda Accord exl Sedan - Calgary Cars For Sale - Kijiji Calgary Canada.
Now i was looking to buy a mazdaspeed 6 (something manual with awd and power). I talked to the owner of this car
Mazdaspeed6 Sedan AWD Turbo-Winter set includ! No tax - Edmonton Cars For Sale - Kijiji Edmonton Canada.
and he is willing to trade my car + 5k cash for his car. What do you guys think, should i do it? Obviously i will get different replies from this and ms6 forums but was wondering what u guys think. Is it a fair deal? is it worth it? thanks

idk what they sell for up there, price may be a tad high. i saw the boost gauge, not sure what else hes modified on the car and it says installed new bilsteins also.

trade plus 5k would be too much in my opinion. hondas hold their value and id says its worth 10-12 depending on mileage also

You're in Canada and the price is different, at least MSRP was. I don't really know what these cars sell for used here in Canada, but go to autotrader.ca and search for similar MS6s accross the country and compare prices. Also dude, just a suggestion: take pictures during the day to help your sale/trade.

I'm not sure why the Speed6's in Alberta are so expensive.

In BC for $17,500 you can get one with 40,000-50,000 k

I got my MS6 GT for $20,000 with 14,000k ... lol but in driving.ca all the Alberta one's with that mileage are a good $3000-$4000 more...i guess not everything in Alberta is cheaper :p just less taxes!

And remember you will still have to pay taxes with the deed transfer ... unless he lies at the transfer office lol

If you buy this car, take it to a Mazda Dealership before you buy it and get it thoroughly inspected. These cars are finicky and at 108,000km. Make sure they remove the skid plates and check things like the transfer case etc ..

Well i am leaning towards the trade, I was wondering what is should ask a mazda dealership to look for in order in order to make sure im not getting a lemon, thanks
Get a warranty history on the car if you can. Also, check for turbo smoke. Warm up the car and let it idle for like 10 minutes. If you see smoke pouring out the exhaust, then a new turbo may be in order. I think that really is the biggest issue to look out for. Either way, this car is great and a completely different animal compared to your Accord. It is definitely worth the money if you can pick up a car that has a good service record and lower mileage. Just remember that these cars are quite picky, so you better be up for keeping up with the maintenance. This car is not like the accord, where you fill it up with gas and change the oil and you're good to go for 200k.
