Took my car to get an oil change and enable autolock... $114 and a possible reflash later...

I went to get my oil changed at about 1300 miles with a coupon I printed off of mymazda.com and to have the autolock feature enabled, as described in the owner's manual. The dealer service center charged me an hour of labor to do it ($86). It's a 5 minute thing that I think they should have done as a courtesy. I'll be working with Mazda corporate to see about getting reimbursement of some sort. I had been in once before to get my steering wheel straightened, have a cobweb removed from the headlight housing, and to have the (as mentioned above and below) autolock feature enabled. This took a day and a half (the service writer, let me know that warranty work paid the techs less, and therefore they didn't usually rush to get said work done) and they had to rent a Focus for me to drive that night. The service center is basically making a statement about not wanting to see me there for minor warranty issues or anything else that doesn't add up to a profitable repair (especially, I think, because I didn't buy it from them) so as to not take up a bay that could be used for a "paying" customer. Which sucks, because this is a feature described in the owners manual that only they can enable. They didn't even know how to do it the first time I asked them to. So I had to research it and bring them in a step-by-step on how to do it the next time I went in to get the oil changed. I get more and more pissed off every-time I think about it. They better effing compensate me. It's bullshit to charge for something like this. I told the guy that I was aware that warranty work and the like sucks for them, but they are a part of a dealership that sells new cars with national Mazda warranties, and that taking care of me would also make me want to come back for more routine maintenance. He told me very frankly that they really didn't expect any kind of loyalty from Mazdaspeed6 owners. That we would do our mods and farm it out to the lowest bidder. I let him know that to me, money is nice, but isn't always everything, and, again, that if they treated me right as a customer, that I would do what I could when I could to return for more routine, out of pocket maintenance... Oh, and I think they reflashed my car after I asked them not to (and they said the wouldn't), because I gave them shit about this...

Yeah, I would understandably bitch. Particularly for something that is a nice/safety feature and many other makes (at least GM's) you can disable/enable that whenever your bored, just pull a fuse panel and follow instructions in the manual.

Of course my other thought is I didn't even know that we had auto-lock as a feature/option. What does it do? Lock after XX mph?

If you have the Advanced Keyless Entry, it can be set to lock the car and arm the alarm when you close the door and walk away without you having press any buttons. Just keep the card in your pocket. Mainly just a convenience feature.
I have to take mine back to the dealer just because the cup holder cover/door sticks a little and there is some coca-cola residue left in the cracks of the lower console which i discovered today. The shifter is also scratched up, the metal part, and on the top storage bin, the button has two hefty scratches on it. This is all on a brand new car. Go figure.
