Switched over to my Winter tires on the weekend and had some interesting findings.

Car current has RPM Sport springs on it.

With the RPM springs, stock rims and 225/45R18 tires, nothing rubbed.

With stock springs, 17x6.5 +52.5 Mazda3 GT rims and 215/50r17 tires, nothing rubbed.

With the RPM springs, 17x7 +40 rims and 215/55r17 tires, it will rub on the outside fender lip.

With the RPM springs, 17x6.5 +52.5 Mazda3 GT rims and 215/55r17 tires will rub on the inside fender liner at the passenger rear.

I went with the Mazda3 rims. To fix the rubbing, I had to put in 3mm spacers, then everything was fine. They fill up the wheel well real good.

See pics.
