Hi All, sorry but I can not find a thread clearly stating this...
I have a 2009 2.5l auto with 135'000km, does this car have a timing belt or chain?
If its a chain, no need to change it???
For the most part I’m pretty sure every US spec model uses timing chains. The 2.5 in your vehicle has a timing chain and would not need to be replaced unless it has skipped timing or mechanically failed. You can adjust it if you think you need to but usually it’s best not to touch it. And there is either 1 large belt that wraps around the crank, alternator, water pump, ac compressor and a tensioner or there’s are 2 belts. 1 stretch belt goes around the crank and water pump and then a regular v-belt goes around the crank, ac compressor, alternator, and a tensioner.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
