I’m looking to potentially upgrade to the 3.7 throttle body, which I’ve found locally but can’t seem to find a spacer online anymore. Anyone know where to find one? If not I may have my buddy 3D print one and see how it goes.

Update: ordered the tapered spacer from Cordova and a 3.7tb. Just finished installing and going for a test drive (after battery reset of course) and wow 😲 my butt dyno is telling me something. I used carb cleaner and then polished the inside of the new throttle body before installing. My other mods are 3” cai, egr optimization and bypass, tb coolant bypass, lightly modified exhaust with gutted cats, a non pinched y pipe for the 06-08 with better angles and flow, and also mufflers but I kept the resonator. The sound of the engine changed dramatically after adding the bigger tb, and the acceleration immediately put a smile on my face. Highly recommend this mod if you have a first gen 6 with some bolt ons.

How did yours work out for you 6inthecity?

from the butt dyno
That is the most important one, the satisfaction you get with each improvement.

After I do anything to my cars (even a quick wash) I always tell my kids, "its faster now !"

This is great to hear.
I picked up a tapered spacer a while ago but still have no TB because I have not figured out how I want to run it. I don't have a CAI, (mostly because I do not want to contend with a MIL)

I didn't get a MIL from my intake, although I already have it from gutted cats. My scan tool hasn't picked up anything intake related since I installed mine. My intake was a 3 inch knock off from injen or I believe the old company "bomz" had a replica also. Upgraded to a better air filter and I also ordered the air flow adapter (can't remember what this piece is called), it's about an 1 inch wide piece of tubing that fits inside the 3 inch intake making it size down to 2.75 just before it can hit the maf sensor. I placed it inside my intake through the MAF hole and placed just before the sensor when it's installed, no code.

If you don't have bigger tubing for the intake the gains from a bigger tb would be less noticeable I think.

I had one of these adapters sitting around for the last year. It being 3D printed I had little confidence it would hold up. A few weeks ago I was saying to myself you're over thinking this, it'll be fine. Well my initial assessment was correct. It lasted all of two weeks before failing while sitting in a drive thru. The plastic got hot and soft then engine vacuum pulled the bottom part inwards. The whole thing was a hot distorted mess. The plastic used just isn't up to the task. The heat rating isn't high enough. Not to mention all the leak paths for air between the layers of filament. I'm lucky it didn't jam the throttle plate open or burn a valve from being super lean. I'm having one machined from aluminum today. My new one will also have an o-ring seal instead of having to put RTV on to seal the bigger TB.
