has anyone had any probs with their stock suspension? End links, sway bar, struts or anything like that going bad? How about the stock rack n pinion?

Theres this LOUD noise coming from my suspension. Sometimes it sounds like a banging sound, sometimes it sounds like something rubbing. The sound comes when driving at a slow rate of speed (under 20mph). Or when Im slowing down and turning the wheel.

*grrrrrrr* i finally fixed the ignition coils and EGR valve a week ago and now this. arrrrrggghhhh!!! will the problems ever stop!! >.<

So I take it that the S-techs aren't going on anytime soon? With the way I scrape and tear up CV boots like nobody's business, I don't think I've had any bad problems. Although I did have a problem when my dad added coolant to my power steering reservoir... Like a pretty bad sound when turning. Although a turkey baster and a refill of the right fluid fixed that.

i think we have the same problem
if we do then it's not suspension although it sounds like it
i remember reading a TSB by mazda about something in the steering column
if i'm correct, it sounds like a knock in the front end when accelerating or turning?
if that's the problem then the dealership should fix it if the issue is brought to their attention

Thats exactly what it sounds like!! a knocking sound. it happens anytime i drive under a certain speed

i didnt get to take my car to the dealership to have it checked out yet...but, the other day, I adjusted my steering wheel and now, the noise is gone...so it is pointless to take it in if there is no noise.

Im wondering if when my bf and his friend were working they forgot something inside the engine bay and when I adjusted the steering wheel it fell LOL...

You adjusted the steering wheel? Expect more noise just fyi....I got more car up on the lift @ Ft. Shafter Hobby Shop and noticed my tie rods are torn up. Endlinks are as well so I'll be buying newer ones. All in all I'm pretty disapointed being my parts are all mazdaspeed on the suspension side. Good luck and update if you experience anything else.

I remember reading something about telescoping the steering wheel in and out fixes something or other. Couldn't remember what it was.

Edit: just re-read what I posted and it doesn't help one bit... lol...

@kaiboy...im just crossing my fingers that the noise doesn't come back...from what my bf and his friends saw, the end links and the tie rods looks ok...when they have time, they are gonna go and look more carefully...

@alex....i read the same thing as well...so im hoping that it was just that...I don't remember where I read it though...

when I have time, I'm gonna go swing down to mazda to have them look at the steering column as well....just hope i have time to do it before my bf's cousin leaves Mazda haha

man, if it isn't one thing its another...now my drivers side door won't open...and it won't open from either side...inside or outside...WTF?!? anyone had this prob before?

check you door handle on the inside and see if its loose. Had mine come apart on me, BUT it just affected the inside operation.......SO maybe the mechanism broke inside the door......gonna be a beotch to fix, unless you can get that door open to take off the inside panel.
Have you tried using the key fob to see if that will unlock it (just making sure

Hey did you go to Cutter or JN? What ever came out of it? Anything in regards to your steering column?

@monkeyboy...key fob?? whats that?? Well, the key is able to unlock the door...thank goodness cuz my alarm is broken *boo*

@kaiboy...no i didnt...i live on big island now...the mazda here is pretty expensive to just look at the car...i adjusted the steering wheel one day for some reason *i dont remember why*...now the car doesnt make the noise so its kinda pointless to go to the dealership...i will make use of that link you gave me though when it comes back..Thanks!

this car is like the car from hell in the last year!! *arrrrggghhh*...

within the last year i had to

change ignition coils twice.
change EGR valve
fix the damage on my car from 2 accidents from people that don't know how to drive
my alarm crapped out
drivers door doesn't open from inside or outside

and now....

my rim is leaking air...not my tire...the rim...

Damn...that hella sux, but I guess I just joined the club of problems.........I installed the Optimized TB with Steeda TB spacer, changed my spark plugs to Pulstars and also did the EGR mod. Not I got a P2187 CEL. Lame I'm getting a new set of rims next month, so maybe u can buy my Rx-8 rims for cheap? j/k

Not sure if there were any revisions to the design, but I heard the pulstar plugs werent that great?
