2003 Mazda 6i with 82k on the clock. I've noticed a sound that only happens when the engine car is cold. It sounds like a rubber creeking for a second when I go off or on throttle. After 5 minutes of driving, I no longer hear it. It's almost as if rubber bushings somewhere are making a creeking noise (Motor or Tranny Mounts?). Could this be the case? Have you guys heard this happen?

Yes! I have the same issue on a 2004 6s. It's odd because the noise comes and goes. It's a creaking/grinding sound that seems to be coming from the left front suspension. I'm stumped and a visual inspection has turned up nothing. I need to take it to the shop and get it on a lift where the bushings can be inspected with no load on the suspension.
