went to the track today. 75 degree weather, half a tank of gas.

took out spare tire/jack, otherwise bone-ass-friggin stock.

first couple runs i kept bogging. came up with a couple 14.8s...and i was disappointed.

then came a 14.3 at 96. followed by a 14.2 at 96. however, my 60 fts. were all 2.1's.

then i decided to DRIVE :)

at launch i revved to about 5k (it was boging at 4500...sticky track). i slipped the clutch, and floored it, the car shuddered a bitm caught traction, and was gone. power shifted 4th by accident, otherwise let up every shift. rode 4th out to about 6200 rpm, severe power drop off :(

anyway, this is what happened:

60....1.956
330....5.713
1/8.....8.853
mph.....77.92
1000......11.564
1/4.............................13.857
mph............................97.77

i stopped trying after that. i went to the track with the intent of getting a 13 stock. i wasnt sure if it was possible, but there you go. :)

btw it was my first time at the track with ANY car, and i got that on my 5th and final run. imagine if it had been 45 degrees out and i had a little less gas in the tank :)

im so ecstatic that i pulled this off. can't wait to mod :)

sorry, forgot to mention my car is a GT w/o navi

Very nice time. Some guys cant even hit 13's with mods or a 13.8 for that matter.
very nice runs
why did you bother taking out anything?
with a better launch you could have pulled off a 13. ive got faith in ya

now time for 12's
Nice runs, you have street racing vids all over the web ;)
Great run! Especially considering it was your first time.

I fully believe these cars have a 13.5-13.6 in them bone stock. Cooler weather, expirenced driver, good track, broke in car.
75 degree weather[/b]
Go to hell! :p It's 40 degrees here in Michigan.
Great times man.
Nice job! If stock '06 WRX's can do it, I don't see why we can't. I know the MS6 is a faster car.
lol wigum, i wouldnt say theyre ALL over the net. i only have 4 right now circulating youtube lol

unfortunately i didnt get a vid of this, which pains me more than anything else.

but i do have the slip in front of me right now. this baby is getting framed :) i hope there's another test and tune when the weather is better. i really want to concentrate on driving the car to its fullest potential while its stock, then begin my bolt ons.

a better launch would be pretty tough, i felt real bad fro beating on the car so much after that last one, i pretty much was slipping the clutch to engagement at 5500+ rpm. scared me.

i think ATL ran a 13.7 in his sport model, i could be off on the username though

but i know i have one of the quickest slips :)
mmrfan = stock = 13.73 with only 1k miles!

Me = CPE cat-back + CPE CAI = 13.77 at the same track on the same day.

mmrfan had some of the fastest stock 6s times too.

EDIT: I just watched your vids on Youtube.. I think we can make you the "stress point" guinea pig :D

lol, well, on one i missed 2nd gear and still pulled, another was from a roll, where these cars dont necessarily shine, one i launched and ripped the civic next to me, and the last one i got ROCKED by a 12 sec gto.

so far so good, no problems at all, knock on wood...i dont want to be any kind of guinea pig for shit breakin

Nice job, especially for your first time. I think I couldn't do better than a 14.6 the first time I went :D

As for launching the speed6 is capable of 1.7xx foot times ~4500rpm launch. I've done a few of those myself.

Even 1.8xx 60' times with ~3500rpm are possible if done perfectly. Feather slightly until you get forward motion, release extremely quickly (but not dumping) and floor it :D
i feathered from 4500 and pulled a 1.914 on my way to a 13.77. i fully believe my car is capable of a 13.5 with a 1.7xx 60' but i dont have the skill yet to launch it well enough.

on a side note, i test drove a 2007 mustang gt 5 speed and a 2007 legacy gt 5 speed w/s-i drive today and i have no regrets about my mazdaspeed6 :) :)
WhiteLightning brought up a good point....These Cars have not been fully broken into yet, since they are brandnew...It's true that a car doesn't reach it's full potential until 25K Miles maybe 30K...I think 13's is possible bone stock.
...I think 13's is possible bone stock. (quote isnt working)

J dragon,
of course it is...it's already been done.
you guys all suck with your awd....
my fist time at the track ever i got a 14.6 at 107 with a 2.5 60'

im not sure if i was too jumoy and kept dumping the clutch too quickly or what, but anything under 5k and i would bog horribly. i mean, 2.4-2.5 60's. i was PISSED lol. i just figured the track was stickier than the street. once i go back ill play a little bit more and be more patient, this time i was just focused on getting that 13.

looks like quite a few people have doen it. awesome :) maybe we can start a timeslip database if there isn't one already. i mena, specifically for MS6's
Not as easily though Digger10T people still get 14's stock.., I mean when you fully break the car in...As I like to call them, The golden Miles 30000+ 13's will be reachable with minimal effort.

Yeup! I was the first to put 13.7's out of the MS6. :D Now it's time to go further with some better times and vids. ;)
