The whole integration of the bluetooth/ipod usb/audio/nav needs work,;

1. Why in the hell does it always play the first song when in Bluetooth, usb mode.... Who was the genius there?

2. Give me the option to have the audio return to a normal volume when the car starts, or just make that default (I HATE when blasting the stereo, leave car, come back on hours later and have ears assaulted automatically from prior drive) This is a BASIC function, why is it not in place. My 06 prius does this. (hate that car, was good for commuting)

3. Why does the NAV system not give me the option to lock my home address, this is a BASIC security feature that we do not have.... There have been many reports of a car being stolen, then thieves just punch up the home address and proceed with theft..

4. Give me a way to give Siri a command... really? (if there is, I can't find it, enlighten me)

5. I am sure there are things I am forgetting at the moment...

LOVE the car, hate the stereo setup (sounds good tho) The details are IMPORTANT!

These are all items that can be addressed with a firmware update, maybe I should send it to my personal care lady that called :) I got my gift from Mazda, nice little Bonzai tree.

How is every getting this gift? I haven't gotten shit or received a phone call...are you all previous Mazda owners maybe?
Not a previous owner, received call about 1 1/2 weeks after purchase, gift a week later.

I'd think it has something to do with the dealer you purchased from, they would have to do their job, OR, maybe because I financed through Mazda? The counter offered my financing from my normal bank as part of our negotiation.

Not sure..

Ok...ive only had my car a week as of today and did NOT fincance through Mazda...they couldnt go low enough on interest rate....I bet its because you financed through them.

I was just curious.

Thanks!

Well it took me longer, give it another week.. On my intro thread I posted the phone number to the people that called me, give them a ring!

I got 2.25% financing, was fine with that, probably could of pushed for lower, but we came to an agreement :)

I got 2.4 through Mazda Dealership in Jersey. They are tied with JP Morgan Chase for the financing deptartment. This is a flat rate non increasing and potential to payout early plan
I checked with TD Bank (my main banking institution) and they would give me no less than 4.4

I got 1.9% financing in February when Mazda was offering it. It ended up being done threw my bank which is JP Morgan Chase :) Credit Unions lowest was 2.24% at the time. Either way it's a lot lower than my car I bought in 2005 was at 5.25%.

Wow. This got off topic in a hurry. Back on topic. The only real complaint I have with my new 6 is the stereo head unit. I'm ready to pull it out and throw it through my dealers window with a intimidating note attached. How does a car so nice have such a pos stereo. I thought it was going to be the Bose speakers that I didn't like but that didnt turn out to be the case.

I agree. The speakers actually sound very nice once you break into them. And I had my doubts when I didn't see the tweeters placed in the metal frame that you see in all the cars with 6+ speaker systems.

However it is unforgivable that the USB has to start from track 1 every time you start the car and that too takes almost 3-4 minutes to do that as it has to load all the songs' info into memory.

Just give us the option to browse by folders and see songs by song name (don't give a crap about ID3). And that should resolve the problem.

Also for bluetooth phone dialing, why do I have to wait for the announcer to finish announcing all the options before I can give my voice command? And why isn't there a short cut to directly dial y saying my friends names instead of going through all the menus again?

who uses USB anymore anyway?
theres bt..!

granted i have mainly been using the bose stereo with bluetooth..but it always starts where I left off. If i am playing with the music app it just continues playing when i start the car and stops when i turn off the car. If i am using a podcast app it works the same...as well as with pandora...

yes..my old mazda 3 had a horrible factory stereo but even with the kenwood with stereo bluetooth and phone it didnt function anywhere near as well as this does for me. I actually enjoy listening to music now..never really used to in other cars I have owned.
by comparison..im completely in love with this nav/stereo in the tech package..coming from pure crap its really nice ;)

1. Definitely agree that this was a ridiculous oversight. I have been using voice control to open up the playlist to where I want it but it definetely should at least be an option to "start at last song"

2. Haven't noticed this

3. Easy trick I have always done is to put in a location near your home (and on your way, say a 1/4-1/2 mile away) vs. placing your actual home address

4. You can access Siri by pressing and holding the home button on your phone/ipod touch. This will open up Siri and you can use it as you would normally. Just press the hangup button on the steering wheel when you are done. I've used this technique on a variety of cars and all work the same so far.

My $.02...I just picked mine up last week and am loving it! Grand Touring / Meteor Gray / Almond, 35% tint all around... she's definitely a beautiful machine!

I use usb. So there's one guy. And regardless if the BT functions well enough, other options should function just as well. Its a joke that it doesn't.
I always do as well when it makes sense. BT I use for phone calls but not for listening to music. "Works well enough" isn't good enough for some people when it comes to audio.

Hardwire is always going to sound better, transmit more data, and be more reliable than wireless.

If the factory headunit didn't control the adjustments for door locks and headlights I would of pulled it out with the claw end of a framing hammer earlier today when the same some started playing gore the 6th time.

Well that sucks. I would assume someone will create some sort of fix or workaround for that but if they don't it means no aftermarket headunits at all?

The Infotainmant system, while not perfect, is better than anything Mazda has come up with till now. Or at least better than the one in my 2010 Mazda3. It's better even than my brother in law's 2011 Acura TL.

The one thing I agree with is the voice activation. My Mazda3 handles that better than the 6.
